****2024-25 Chicago Bears Thread 💩****

Who's they? The Bears are a charter franchise and it's an incredibly desirable job regardless of how bad it's been the last decade plus. What possibly available job is more desirable? Certainly not the Jets, Saints, Giants, Browns, or Jags... even Dallas is less desirable bc of the meddling owner who things he's a great GM.
But I still fully expect them to step in their Ds and not hire the best available candidate bc its the Bears and that's what they do.
Four ex players yesterday that literally talk with people in the NFL for a living. They talked about a year ago no one would want to go to Washington now players are asking to be traded there and then said no one wants to coach the Bears because their franchise has been terrible for a decade. That's who.

Today? 5 for sure. But don't pretend you saw all this coming. Vegas didn't and they're better at this than everyone.
It's just called a prediction dude, some times your right some times your wrong. That was just what I thought would happen. I'm wrong a lot also. Just like Vegas surprisingly is apparently.

The stupidest fuqing comment I ever see from dumb Bears fans (they vote) is they always say who would want to coach here with all this "dysfunction". BECAUSE THERE ARE ONLY 32 JOBS OUT THERE LIKE IT! And no matter what the media says, Chicago is a charter franchise and winning a championship here would make you a God. All '85ers are treated like royalty here, and I bet New England's fans couldn't name their starting KR from their 2004 squad. Any coach would love to be that guy who can break the mold.

Yeah, that's a long way from head coaching candidates not wanting to go there. Plus as your example illustrates it all changes quickly regardless. Johnson reportedly turned down Washington last year.
My opinion stays the same, if and when the Bears job opens it will be one of if not the most desirable jobs available.

Another Poles L. What exactly has he hit on besides lucking into two #1 picks?
I actually like most of the guys he’s brought in on the defense; the trade for Sweat last year, etc. OL has been the one position group he hasn’t done well with. Think he’s been a decent, not great GM. I assume he’ll get another chance to get the HC right or else he’ll be on the hot seat also.

The roster this year was good enough to at least contend for a playoff spot - albeit in the toughest division this year.

Your entitled to your opinion, these guys in the NFL just state that good candidates don't want the job is all.

They waived Davis this morning.
Missed that. Thanks. I raked today, went to lunch with the wife, then came home to the Gaetz fiasco.
Looks like some nameless practice squad guy gets a chance this week. The Bears have quite a few injuries right now, and I haven't heard any updates on Jenkins.

Make this season stop

This Nate Davis thing is still pissing me off. He was bagging it. He bagged it last year, and he was bagging it this year. The other players knew it, and the staff had to know it. He checked out after signing his contract.

Haha. Unbelievable. Got an NFL D lineman to jump offside on 4th and 3😂.

LOL. These coaches and their 4th down decisions. My God, they’re stupid.

I’m beginning to think all this analytics stuff was introduced into the NFL by Vegas, as a way to increase the variance in the game and make NFL betting that much more difficult.

The trouble with analytics is that it doesn't allow for individual moments. Lots of situations where it makes sense to go for it on paper, but in reality just take the points.

I'm not complaining at the moment tho :)
