****2024-25 Chicago Bears Thread đź’©****

No. As a fallback option, sure. But first choice needs to be someone with an offensive background to help the young qb.

The problem with hiring a defensive guy is that if he nails the OC hire, that guy likely moves on after a year or two and you have to start over again. Not to mention the bears just tried this with eberflus.
I don't want another conservative coach in charge of one of my football teams.

Right, I just felt like if the Bears could have landed him last year, they would have kicked flus to the curb
Maybe; as others said I’m not sure if the interest was mutual or not.

I hated that they did just well enough down the stretch last year to rationalize bringing Eberflus back.

Sadly, the most winnable game left for the season is this weekend. Barring a miracle rejuvenation under Thomas Moore, we get to limp through some painful losses and count the days until the draft.
Anyone else notice how freaking dominant the Lions were in the trenches last night? The Bears have the worst lines in the North.

This is why once again we have root for another tank job the rest of the way.
Bears could pick as high as 6 then again at 34 and 38.
Three picks( including Panthers 2nd rounder) could net three linemen ( 2 offensive 1 def) that could put them on the pathway to greatness next year..they are close.
Plus they have 88 million in cap space to add talent.
Just lose, baby...its the Chicago way.

It's Brown. Thomas Brown is the interim head coach. Put some respect on the man's name.

I guess maybe the players should take some more accountability after SF put it on them right from the start. This is one of the more disappointing losses of the year. Bears, after crying for weeks, didn’t even show up today.

On a side note, that top ten pick better be used on a LT because I’ve given up on Jones.

I've always given him the benefit of the doubt because he's done a great job of turning the roster over from the shambles he inherited, but his glaring mistakes with coaching hires and on the offensive line are probably too much to look past.

Even though Warren seems to be a clown, he inherited poles and could always move on from him if he's feeling pressure too (which he should) because the one reason he was brought here for hasn't happened yet

Shit I have to rewind my show again

Been on the job three years and only thing he seemed to get right is the QB, thanks to Carolina. The roster build after thee seasons, mainly the O line leave a lot of be desired. When trade away Mack and Roquan you expect to get matching or better talent after. Poles failed at that. And the fact he stuck with Flus after last year. He'll still be the GM but very apparent that Warren has final say on all his decisions.

I see what you did there 🤣🤣🤣

I admit I am more patient with coaches and GMs than most. I defended Eberflus up until the Pats game.

For the tank it crowd, well never get past the Raiders. You want to swap places with fans if that franchise? Or, be a Jets fan?
Maybe Poles comes back, but at least a new GM would have some decent skill position players, the bones of a defense, a solid kicker, and a world class punter to work with.

The Bears truly aren’t that far away. Every ounce of energy should be given to fixing both lines. You can win with Swift, Allen (if he chooses to return), Odunze, Moore and Kmet. On defense, the LBs and DBs could use some tweaking, but are pretty solid. Santos is ok and Taylor is good. They have draft capital and cap space.

I get it, but, Poles invested draft capital and jumped up to the 3rd round to get an OT who was injured and going to be of no use this season. I am beginning to wonder about his draft smarts when that is one of the things he was supposed to be great at when he came from KC

Unfortunately everyone (including me) vastly over rated the quality of the roster in the off season.
Even decimated by injuries the 49ers roster had more high end talent on the field yesterday. The Bears lack elite talent. They've got some very good players, but very few stars... and in the NFL that matters.

Yeah, that was a real head scratcher. A big miss there. Plus, when Nate Davis was your highest paid lineman coming into the year, you knew this group was in trouble.

This is why I want Vrbal as the next head coach. Solid line play. A coach that builds a foundation to a team and a tough mentality.

Tweaks won't fix the fundamental issues the Bears have.

Poles gets a lot of credit for that ridiculous trade with Carolina and then lucking into the #1 pick.

He was blowing capital on guys like Allen and Swift when he should have been signing the best 2 or 3 offensive linemen available.

And I love Tory Taylor, but you do NOT use a 4th rounder on a punter when your offensive line f*cking sucks.

Bears have 3 picks in top 40 in the 2025 draft. Poles has to hit on linemen this offseason.

If they crap out again next year...poles should be under scrutiny.
