3500 tickets left for Purdue (Thursday 8pm)

judging by the available seats on the UI ticket seat chart I'd say there is at least 2,500+ still left

the corners have huge openings

All I know is that I have worn the mask in public for nearly 2 years, and for the first time in my life haven’t had a cold, sore throat or any type of intestinal or stomach bug. Am thinking seriously of continuing to wear the mask when the pandemic is under control.

I live in a state that couldn't be bothered to mask if it meant abortion would be forever illegal (SD). The science does follow that mask to mask (N95) transmission is very difficult and even more so if vaccines are brought into the picture. I can't attest to why numbers are high other than people in general are stupid. I haven't been to a public event in 2 years due to my son's health concerns. So I don't have much info to supply for/against any argument about first hand mask wearing.
Sounds like you have a belief and a conviction about those things and you are entitled. Now don't think you have a right to impose your fears, concerns or life situations to other people.
And quit telling lies about things. SD had plenty of people requiring mask and observing social distancing and closing indoor dining areas because I experienced it in a couple of trips up there in 2020.
Lies diminish the power of intelligent thoughts.

It's a job now to go to Iowa basketball games? I quit decades ago,
Awesome! If only we had a few more Iowa City - Cedar Rapids fans quit like you maybe Iowa could have a game with zero fans.

I wouldn’t put it past Eastern Iowans to not come out & support this team at any time.

This could be a real possibility one of these home games.

This is an internet message board, I'm not expecting anyone to feel "imposed" upon. And unsurprisingly the pandemic has shown many people's true colors in regards to their feelings about people that aren't them. When forced to, yes there were places that did such things as mask wearing and varied hours. Your few trips do not overrule someone who lives here. But the overwhelming majority can't be bothered because thinking of others is far down the list of concerns in this state unless those others are unborn fetuses or related to the governor. Internet message boards have never been a beacon of intelligent thought. But thanks for your concern.

Good for you. Join the Asian fashion statement, although they are addressing smog issues.
Glad you feel good and are sickness free.
And you can also learn that the world doesn't revolve around you so stop hounding others to conform to your fears and beliefs. You clearly have no concerns for others so don't look to us to appease you.

Well you certainly prove to be no beacon is right. As well as showing your colors you lied about the facts and now because you are a resident you are right. Lol.
Just because mainstream media and DC are lying POSs doesn't mean the rest of the country need to be a model of their approach to life.
Live yours and let other live theirs.

Well, that would suck.

I haven't lied about anything. When letting others live theirs directly affects everyone that's where the issue lies. Idk what the f you mean by showing my colors. Sorry I give a shit about other vulnerable people. But thanks for trying to travel and visit indoor establishments during a pandemic. Good judgement call.

Don’t think anybody knows the real effectiveness of masks, but I do know that they keep me cognizant of touching my nose, eyes, and mouth. Last winter I was wearing it everywhere and didn’t get sick once

I only wear a mask at work because it's required. Otherwise, never. I've never had the flu, covid, or any other variation in my entire life.

There are two sides to every coin, sir/ma'am. You wear that thing all you want. I am not going to bow at the President Biden teet

Awesome job Eastern Iowa!
While there are issues with Carver, the primary problem with attendance is the lack of break through success from the Iowa basketball program over a considerable length of time.

23 years since last Sweet 16 (one in past 34 years)

43 years since last time winning or getting a share of a conference title

While I’m a cynic, at age 60, I can remember Iowa basketball breaking through. No one under the age of 30 has even any recall of Iowa making a run in the NCAA tournament.

Lack of success over several generations has resulted in lower engagement from the potential fan base for Iowa basketball in Eastern Iowa. When a fan base is less engaged, convenience becomes the primary factor in decisions regarding attendance.

Later starting weeknight games in the winter are inconvenient.

Do it for everyone. Based on coverage of the last game the students that do show up don't understand to make noise when the team is on defense anyway. I honestly couldn't tell if the game was sold out or limited to family members like last year.
They certainly aren’t losing money on concessions.
12:50:for souvenir pop corn( grandson wanted the bucket) 4:50 for a bottle of water—. I get the high prices ,kind of but it took 17 minutes to get served,we missed basically the last half of the first half. It’s just the whole game experience. They are trying to make the game experience better but the long lines for restrooms, concessions, people blocking your view- speakers that are muffled, it’s just more enjoyable watching the game from home.
The fans really tried to get into it but the players didn’t bring the energy the first half, made the game kind of boring.

I thought the crowd was quite good tonight , really got into the game . A very good crowd for an 8:00 pm game on a Thursday night. Those of you who weren't there need to get your ass to the games!
