****Hawks @ Spartans Game Thread****

are you kidding?
Fran would have had a technical foul or two called on him.We were screaming at the tv to call one on ?Izzo.

I don’t get it with Joe W. Think he needs CJ in the game with him.

Yeah, he's been in a total funk since CJF got hurt. All of the perimeter focus is now on him completely and he just hasn't been able to deal with the physical pressure being put on him. It's affected his shooting even when he's wide open (which isn't often) and he seems to have lost his confidence. He's trying, but his role has changed without CJF and he hasn't been able to fill it. Iowa is 2-1 without, essentially, CJF AND Joe W. That was a winnable game against MSU if Joe W could have played like himself.

Maybe JoeW should build up the strength in his legs and fall down less on his drive to the basket.

Then don't bring up the officials. Just about everything you write in this post is complaining about the officials and there non-calls. And yes to the guarantee.
Lol. Okay bruh. It’s a damn game thread in a damn fan message board. Botching about refs is part of the fun. Guarantee? Derp.

Maybe I was not as clear as I should have been. I know the Hawks are missing a couple of key guys and that Iowa has still been playing very good basketball. While these injuries hurt - it also allows the other guys to develop and raise their game. That my hurt them short term but could help them long term. MY personal opinion is that I think Iowa should be better than 10-7 in the league right now with the players they have - hurt or not. I also know how hard it is to win on the road in the B10.

when I referenced the mental toughness piece it surrounds exactly what has happened to Iowa this year. The Hawks have had key players out and are very good and hopefully they can make a deep run in the tournament. I reference back to MSU last year when Langford and Ward - two key starters that got hurt and never fully recovered. The backups came in, struggled at first and then found a way to win. Langford never played in the NCAA tourney and Ward played very limited minutes, but MSU still made it to the Final Four. As I said - I hope the Hawks make a strong run in the tourney.

One other note - as a basketball fan I love Garza. As any opponent of Iowa - I cant stand him. I truly think that if he played for MSU or any other B10 team you would be complaining about him getting away with too much. If he is on your team - he is the kind of guy you love and if he is on other teams - you can’t stand him. For all you older guys - I call it the Bill Laimbeer syndrome.

good luck to the Hawks the rest of the way.

My response, although fueled by last night's tough loss, was overly harsh,... I apologize.

Rifler - No worries and no offense taken. We all get frustrated. I would rather see someone passionate about their team than someone that doesn't give a crap. All good

Did you finally leave Moms basement?
Thanks for responding. You suck. As I responded earlier I meant no disrespect to Fran. I was simply pointing out they were only showing Izzo and I hadn’t seen Fran.
Since you’re interested, yes, I have left my mother’s basement. My wife and 4 kids wouldn’t fit there. We have a nice house in the Cedar Valley and make a nice living. Let me know when you need a place to stay. We have a couple guest bedrooms.
