They've struggled, especially in the red zone. KJ has been our great equalizer today.
ISU has to be thinking that half ended up pretty darn good considering. We should be up 20+
I definitely understand the mentality, but with this OL, that is very hit and miss? (aside from the outside corners for KJ)
Just not consistent enough to guarantee success where it was a sure thing in the past.
Wish we could have finished one of those and goals but it's nice to be worried about finishing in the red zone instead of merely finding it

Yes, this could easily be 24-0 right now or maybe even a little worse. I still don't understand why we aren't seeing KJ more as a featured back. I know it's a running back by committee for most teams nowadays but KJ ALWAYS makes something happen it seems. We had the same problem years ago not using Hock and Fant enough, even as decoys.
We won’t get ISU level teams the rest of the year, is the problem. And Lester has now shit his pants twice inside the five today.
Sooo..... The defense is everything we thought it would be. 6 quarters without allowing a single point. The offense is still very much a work in progress. It doesn't appear to suck. It might be below average, which might be enough for an excellent season.
I like some of what I'm seeing out of Lester. I know Kirk loves the guy, but I'm kinda done with the George Barnett experiment. I don't know if it's talent or coaching, but the lack of any push on short yardage against 3rd string linebackers is the difference between 13-0 and 21-0 today.

I don't want him running up the middle of the field, like, at all. Too risky.
Dolph is actually doing pretty well on his own. Better than a lot in the Big.
