Crazy impressed with Jan Jensens defensive chops!!!! And ability to keep this team engaged through an extremely tough 5 game slide. And based on what I saw tonight EVERY girl is still giving maximum effort!!!!

We may just be building something here.
It's almost like we just needed to be patient with her in her first season as head coach....................

How? Did she not redshirt last year?

According to the rules, it wasn't possible for her to redshirt last year as she played 43 mins in 14 games.

KJE's last game was played on 2/25/24. It's my understanding KJE had her injury during a practice the week of March 3, 2024 which was ~ this time last year.

If you play any mins in a season, then your injury needs to happen before mid-season of that season to qualify for a redshirt. March is too late in the season to claim a redshirt.

If someone can find a reference to her redshirt last year, I'd be interested in that because it would indicate these rules below are wrong then.

Redshirt Rules 101 - Informed Athlete

"NCAA Division I and II
If an athlete enters a contest (at the varsity or JV level), even if only for one or two minutes or for one or two plays, that athlete will be using one of their four seasons of college eligibility.

Once that happens, their only opportunity to get this season “over again” will be if they suffer a season-ending injury or illness before the midpoint of the season and have not exceeded the limit on the number of games played or dates of competition for their sport."

Clarification of the "Four Game Rule" - Informed Athlete
"The “Four Game Rule” that these parents are referring to only applies to the sport of football at the NCAA Division I level.

In every other sport, participation during any portion of a game, meet, or match during the regular season will trigger the use of one of an athlete’s four seasons of competition."

Shocker, even in 18 minutes, Syd Affolter led Iowa in rebounds (7).

"Rebounding is all about heart and hustle. Maybe I'm a little bit undersized at the 4, but I'll always bring that effort. I want to be the first one to the loose ball. ... You go hit someone and put your butt in someone, but it's more about just go get the dang ball."

Is it just me and my " probably needs hearing aids" ears, or can you barely hear the announcers over the crowd/ band. Not that it's a bad thing...
Late response.. but if you don’t have surround sound you need to switch your audio off 5.1 on peacock. It’s naturally set there on audio/subtitle button.
