*****Iowa vs Illinois Game Thread*****

1 shot on offense. Hate it when coaches don’t emphasize offensive rebounds. Our girls are quick enough to not get burned in transition

So let me get this straight, we made changes, started Guyton, playing Frosh a lot and the coach is still the problem…got it
I’m happy with Guyton. Not some of the substitutions in the 1st. You can be supportive of the coach/team and critical at the same time. There is room for both.

Illinois isn't a lockdown defensive team. On the other end, Iowa should be able to contain their offense. IE, we should beat this team.

I mean, honestly, not every single stretch of poor play is a result of a coaching decision. In fact, I’d go so far as to say more often than not it’s piss poor play by the players. But hey, that’s just me.🤷‍♂️

9 point lead and O’grady is put in and we don’t score again and Illinois scores 7. I have seen enough of her. Earlier in the game Bostic scored and Addie only made it just past half court.

So Guyton w/4 TOs, is that stat more meaningful now @pablow @HawksGoneWild1 @MVPFAN etc….

Yet another reason why I’m more than happy to let the coaches make personnel decisions without my help. Both ways, I’m glad started her, but in no way was I upset she wasn’t 🤷‍♂️

Missed layups. The Iowa team has *bad* missed layups. If there isn't a body right on you there really isn't an excuse. If they practiced nothing but that, the team averages 10+ more a game.

I’m not looking to argue, but it seems like you have been looking to disagree with people though from the posts I have seen over the last few days.

Sometimes poor play is due to poor management, but a majority of the time it is just flat out poor play. I am not excusing that.

I didn’t like some of the substitutions in the first when I posted that, but I definitely don’t just blame the coach for everything, not my deal.

One TO was a fumble by AOG on pick and roll. Another was a steal by Guyton that Illinois stoled back immediately. Not sure I'd get all excited yet.
