*****Iowa vs Ohio St Game Thread*****

And quite frankly, it does matter what I think. Iowa football is in a place that is just not sustainable in the new rules of football. Tell me how many teams other than Iowa that have their head in sand. Iowa donors and fanbase have given a ton per capita to them. Results have been above average. If Kirk isn't going for national titles, then it should be time to move on.

On the positive front, B1G schedulers were very favorable to Iowa this year. This is the only good league team on the schedule. The rest is bad to mediocre. There are wins to be had against the bottom half of the league.

Well my prediction before the game was 38-10 and it looks like it was pretty accurate. Iowa played a respectable half, albeit because OSU shot themselves in the foot. I don’t expect Iowa to win these type of games but we should be able to expect to be able to score some points outside of garbage time and be more competitive for 4 quarters

I said a tight 14-0 half and a 42-0 final. I was wrong.

If Cade hits that easy long throw in the 1st drive and Iowa scores maybe the game would have been closer, OSU was under zero pressure all Day, You cannot miss those chances, Cade sealed Iowa's fate early and just kept adding to the suck as the Game went on , He is utter garbage and sahould not take another snap this Year but Lazarus Ferentz will not go to a QB who has post 1960 skills in Sullivan

When you are around 26 years, the scouting report is there if you don't change.

It is pretty simple. In any industry, if you are going against competition,, you have to change.

I don't recall any cars recently with ashtrays.

Exactly why Iowa lost to ISU. Campbell knew ISU would get ball back with a chance to win. He knew KF would not try anything. Against some teams, he may have felt a need to try and get a first down.

Iowa gets this one today boys!

Iowa isn't the better team on a day-to-day basis. They don't have very good chance of winning. But Iowa wins this game today!

Spread all the way down to 17 now. You have to wonder if Howard may not be playing.

RUN. THE. BALL.
Sooo close.

Was in Minnesota today for a grandmonster's 8th grade FB game.
They won.
I was going to go through the game thread but saw FORTYTWO pages.
That intimidated me.
For some bizarre reason there is no box score on ESPN.
What is the post-mortem on this game?
Based on the recap it sounds that McNamara was godawful.
Was it him or the OLine reverting to 2023?

McNamera was noodle arm again, WR's lack separation & the line was below average!

Also they put #37 on a 1st rd draft pick WR

& the icing on the cake was KF ****ing us out of a score at the end of the 1st half.

Sounds par for the course.
Captain Fossil must go!

Insane.

I didn’t think you could find a QB at the same level as Hill, but that’s what Cade is. He throws a slightly easier ball to catch vs 120mph of Hill

But Cade can’t move well, he’s just 70lbs lighter so he can slip some contact

The worst part tho is he can’t throw further than 20 yards and even when he does it’s a change up. No zip.

So rest of the year we’ll have to rely on KJ breaking the big plays to have a chance at wins

It’s rather unbelievable that Kirk will not move forward with Sullivan at quarterback.

I don’t understand him. I feel he’s trying to keep our offense 6-feet under b/c of how things worked out with his Son.

Only way Sullivan starts is if Cade gets hurt , He can play like He did in the 2nd half against ISU, 1st half of Minnesota and 2nd half OSU the rest of the way and Kirk will not pull Him, Promises were made or Kirk is senile or both .

People need to stop attending games, supporting this product. Otherwise, be good with 8-5, 7-6, or 6-6 seasons. The good news is that every few years we get to go to the big 10 championship and/or a bowl game with a top 15 team to get embarrassed.

Well I missed it, as I had to work. Sounds like I didn't miss much. Last thing I said on here last night was we have to be aggressive and score some points early. We obviously did not score, but were we at least aggressive and not doing the same crap over and over? Were we moving the ball at all or did our offense once again let down our defense and let them hang out to dry??
first half offense did not let defense out to dry. possessed ball and moved it but every play and opportunity to score was squandered. 2nd half was like last year — defense dried and dusted by offense.
