Why Kirk hasn’t recognized this ^^ has been infuriating. You can’t have a statue at QB and also a crappy line.
Maybe getting someon on staff that knows talent at the QB position and can coach it. Just a thought. We have NOBODY in staff that can do that.

While they gave up 3 TDs this isn't shocking. The offensive gave up a pick 6 and another fumble inside the 5.
We matched up terribly:
We have a bad QB, their strength is the pass rush
They are missing all their DB’s, but we can’t pass
Their back-up QB is mobile and going to be a Heisman candidate in a year or two

Clearly. Small sample size, but decent HS QBs complete those 80-90% of the time. I'm sure Lainez did in HS. Hopefully he settles in on the next drive.
Maybe just maybe the next OC will influence qb starting decisions. We can hope! Same reason why Lainez might stay. As he just needs to look to other Iowa qb transfers.

It was a bad miss bc he had a 6'4" 260 lb DE in his face coming unblocked bc our oline hasn't been taught how to account for pass rushers... multiple times on that drive we doubled inside rushers leaving edge rushers unblocked. I was able to teach 6th and 7th graders how to not allow that to happen. It's coaching malpractice.
