*******NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS*******

Weren’t OSU’s three finalists all transfers?
Covered by many others. I’m not saying Taylor has done the deed. But it sure was a heck of a first year. He seems early to have some of what Cael has, in getting the best versions of his wrestlers.

Time will tell. He’ll need to recruit well. But I think OSU under Taylor will more than likely out compete Iowa under Brands. I’d love to be wrong. But them solidly beating us in year 1 when it matters doesn’t bode well.

I’m hopefully we have future of 2028 gold medal winning Spencer followed by a head coach Spencer in the years following.

In other news, Cylones got all the way to 27th place. They were able to take over Cal Poly, N Colorado and Wisconsin by 1/2 point to get there. Is this what they meant by being all in or is that next year again?
With openings at 149 and Hwt, how funny would it be if David Taylor poached Bastida and Eschmendia?

Hats off to Hendrickson!! I will eat crow because I didn’t think he would win and actually didn’t think it would be close. Congrats to him!!! The biggest congratulations goes to our own 97 pounder Stephen Buchanan!!! So damn happy he became a Hawk and got what he was after!!! NIL money paid off very well for the Hawks there!!!! Even better is he is a super humble young man!!! Congrats stud!!! Can’t wait to see Drake and Mikey get after it again next year!!! Go Hawks!!

I've heard they're bringing in AJ and poaching Angelo from us, so the joke's on you. Lol.
Have to figure AJ will float ISU's name around to drive up the NIL.

Plus, with Chris Perry in Ames now... it would be interesting to know how things were between them when both were in Stillwater.

As long as he doesn't turn Oklahoma State into the next Penn State and they proceed to go on a decade+ run of title wins, I'm fine with getting another team into the mix at the top, even if it's Oklahoma State.
Unfortunately without something unforseen they will zoom by us. You know he is going to try a lot harder to recruit, he got 3 in the finals his first year with 2 champs and finished ahead of us. Also beat PSU head to head in a big matches at 174 and 285 not to mention the Steveson upset.

How can you possibly die on this hill? He just had 2 guys, neither of whom had ever made the finals, beat multiple time champs who had dominated them previously in the finals.
I literally answered his question with facts. There is no hill except the one you are imagining. On top of that, I didn’t even add that Hamiti was already locked in.

I never said anything of the sort that OkState didn’t perform very well at NCAA’s. I just simply pointed out that they had 4 one year transfers AA and Smith didn’t leave him with “nothing” when he got there.

Oh and who got dominated previously? Hamiti lost a nailbiter in OT at Big 12s to O”Toole and when did Hendrickson wrestle Gable in Folk? The answer is 2021… Not that it wasn’t possibly the greatest upset of all time, but just for the sake of facts and all…

1. I'm not talking about recruiting. His guys got better this year. Basically every single one. So who cares is Hamiti was "locked in." Hamiti made a huge jump being coached by DT.

2. When they were both at 165, O'Toole beat Hamiti soundly 7-1. Yes, they were close at Big 12's...because Hamiti got a lot better this year.

3. And yes, Gable teched Hendrickson in folkstyle in 2021 and again in freestyle last year. He beat in 12-0 with 4 takedowns in 2 minutes. Hendrickson lost to Lucas Davison last year. And he just beat Gable. Just, for once, admit you were wrong!

I don't have any issues with star, but I don't think anybody should have the opportunity to get five titles and keck is a great guy. Plus he's from Iowa so I'd love to see him pull this off

Edit: wrestles for an Iowa school
That was Keck’s 5th NCAA tournament too.

And I don't think he should be wrestling either, and If he was going to pass one the most impressive feats in the sport that nobody before or after him will have a chance to match, I would have been rooting against him too

Hamiti was always a title threat. He just needed some conditioning. He also didn't get the healthy KOT.

Gable doesn't lose that match if he was at several other programs. He was allowed to do his own thing and it bit him. Fortuitous for osu

MSU getting MSUed, amusing.

js, nice effort but remember to CAPITALIZE occasionally to REALLY make your point.

I'm a huge Hamiti fan and you're all wet here. Hamiti was this good last year too but was at the wrong weight and couldn't hold it for three periods. If he hadn't gassed, he would have beaten MM last year. He was that good. He didn't make a huge jump this year. He simply was allowed to eat.
