*****Nebraska vs Iowa Game Thread*****

NIT, NIT, NIT…enjoy that Nebraska Actually, Nebby’s hoops season is like their football season…don’t make the big tourney and their football team doesn’t go to bowl game:)
But they freakin' beat Iowa in both. Makes it harder to spoof them.

That is just not being focused or dialed in at all
Brutal loss when something is on the line.

After the Michigan State closing minutes just a week ago, almost ... almost hard to believe.

Fran we have 3 timeouts!!!!!!! Take one set up a set play. BAD COACHING
I agree. Fran never seemed to be in the game. He made some stupid substitutions and didn't call TOs when we needed them.

He just seemed to sit there.

Lots of negatives from that game but it was really awesome to see PMac bust out the way he did. Could have been a blowout if not for his performance. I'm really happy for him, hopefully he can build on that

Lazy defense or over helping story of the season i would be happy play zone from here on out
Yup. They only give about 50% effort when closing in on / guarding three-point shooters. It’s the whole “I’m counting on him missing” approach.

Glad I had to work during the game but disappointed I didn't get to follow the game thread.

PMAC is a 3 year 30% 3pt shooter and he is streaky. He's not a pure shooter that possesses exceptional shooting form,. I personally would not expect this game to have much effect on post season play. In fact CMAC, PMAC, Ulis, Perkins are all career 30 percent 3pt shooters. The aberrations are the games where they all shoot well, like the MSU and Indiana game and the games where they all shoot very poorly like NW/Wisconsin. Today was close to average for season from 3pt line.

Iowa had a decent 3pt shooting night but horrid overall shooting percentage and Nebraska had an insane shooting percentage. If Kris had concentrated more on driving the ball and Rebacca was more effective than 5/14, maybe we could have gotten to OT.

I don't think this loss matters much. The double bye was mostly going to be artifact of tie breakers going Iowa way...not that Iowa was a clear Top4 B1G team..they were probably going to win 1 game at most in BTT either way and that is unchanged.

Yet, they are still a trash program and state.
Please don’t excuse a poor effort by players and coach today. Don’t place blame on anyone but this lazy, entitled Hawkeye basketball team that overlooked a team that has been playing hard. Sad year for football and basketball teams.

I fully expect the Hawks to play the first Thursday game on the ncaa tourney, lose, and be the first team out.

Because that's just the way things go for us Hawk fans.....the tournament to be over by 1:00 CST on the first day.

Yes, it was a poor effort by Hawk players today. One silver lining in today’s loss is that Hoiberg will likely stay in Nebraska a bit longer, yet their hoops program will still never amount to anything.

Yeah, beggars can't be choosers. Lots of very inconsistent performers on that team

My final comment. The silver lining. They finished better in the conference than I thought they would at the start of the season. I thought it was a 10 win season. Even writing this doesn't make me feel better right now.
