Am I the only one expecting MSU to go 19 from 21 from three in the second half? And us to go something like 1 for 12
That half was fking awesome. Way to play hard in all phases hawks! And here I thought I was going to be sad that fball season was over
Glad I listened to the halftime show and their "MSU is not playing well thats why Iowa is winning" analysis. Good to know. ....db Dakich.
Uthoff hasn't even gone off and we are up like this...kind of opposite of the Gonzaga game last year. ISU game it was 1 man show and you knew that couldn't last...everybody seems hot from 3 is this game...yeah, feels good as Hawk fan.

If Iowa takes care of the ball and continues to play solid D in the second half they'll be very hard to beat.
Even with the most epic of Iowa collapses and we somehow blow this game it just goes to show how special this year can be and how well rounded of a team we have
You have to be naturally nervous that Izzo will make adjustments and come out on fire but IA really has MSU out-of-sorts. They really seem to be doubting themselves.

Not ready to claim victory yet, but loving the way the Hawks are playing. Williams with some meaningful minutes and not hurting us. A lot to like, but MSU will make a run.
Great half. The effort level is outstanding. Keep up the defense and we will get a W. Need Fran to keep playing his bench in the 2nd half. Fran coached a hell of a first half and I hope we see more of the same in the 2nd. I think Fran will be quick to call timeouts if MSU goes on a run. Hopefully the offense keeps doing what they are doing. Iowa is getting great shots on offense right now.
WOW I can't believe so many things are going right for the boys. And that's with multiple shots going in then rattling out and that stupid ref calling a travel that negated Sapp's trey. Woody needs to never ever dribble the ball, he's a turnover waiting to happen. Sapp is taking this game personally and I hope Gesell stays on the bench. Would like to see Williams get some PT and get a feel for the game. Let's hope the boys can hold on.
I think Iowa can withstand a single run. It's the 10-2 run, then we play even for awhile, then a 14-4 run, play even, and then MSU pulls ahead at the end that I'm worried about.
This from Iowa and MG hardly played and JU only scores 8 (below average for him) in the 1st half. If they get on track in the 2nd half, what will the final score be?
We play a second half like the first we just played, their fans may rush the court. Kinda like Rocky IV.
yes better than vs ISU because Iowa grew the lead instead letting them trim it like ISU did.
At what point, if at all, do we get into the bonus with fouls? I say under 2 minutes remaining.
They don't foul anywhere, if refs actually called a true game with MSU played they would have 7-8 guys foul out.....in the first half.
I think we have a slightly better than a 50% chance of winning this game.
Christian Williams got some minutes there too, and didn't stand out, and I mean that in a very positive way
Izzo has to be going off on them....I would assume the will dial up the pressure on defense in 2nd half. Valentine will take it to rack...he was taking it to rack and passing out to shooters..probably could have scored a couple times like that.
Iowa guards have to be strong with ball...Woody/Uthoff/Jok don't give up cheap turnovers.
Got to keep shooting...maybe not early shot clock but holding ball too long ends up in empty possessions.
And also because it was like 5 or 6 guys contributing instead of just 1 or 2. ISU adjusted to shutting down Uthoff and we went dead. If the "role" guys like Uhl, Clemmons, etc. keep hitting shots, then there is realistically a very small chance they come back.
actually looked good rebounding and defense...one mistake turnover but overall did well
One questionable pass, but the offense flowed with him in, and he had a nice offensive rebound and assist on Jok's dunk
MSU is going to absolutely mug it up this half, Iowa has to not panic and weather that storm.
We are lighting it up from the three point line…. refs aren’t screwing us (yet)…. MSU is missing a lot of shots.

If Iowa blows another 20 point lead I don't think anyone could consider this a well rounded team. Well rounded teams win these games. Now let's see how Iowa handles this one.
