How many goats, boars and newborn babies is Paul Rhoads going to eat at halftime? That guy is a freak and fits in perfectly with the mold that is ISU. They may be over taking us in football (still a 2 win Big 12 team) but their school and athletic system is still a joke filled with idiots.
You have to admit, calling the timeout with 35 seconds and NOT letting the clock run down before attempting a field goal would have been very consistent with Iowa's history of clock management.
The timeout was dumb. The call for a fake with no time left on the clock and asking your kicker to make a 30 yard run was dumber. And you are dumbest of all. Nice job with the "dumbo" blast, though--ouch.
Not stunning not baffling if you watch iowa v tx in alamo bowl and iowa v the world last three years total
Wait till after the game when anyone who questions anything is ripped apart by several that have been complaining in this thread...it's hilarious hypocrisy at it's finest.

I'm going to continue watching this game for the players. I hope they pull it out. As for the coaching staff? I really don't know. They're just f'ing stupid.

While your statement is true, it was stupid to not run out of a passing formation on third down. We telegraphed we were going to run, which meant that ISU switched from a pass defense to a run defense which allowed them to stuff us. You can run there, but you need to be showing pass.

Simple solution is for this staff to think of the play they want to call.....stop...... call the complete opposite play.
If Kirk wanted to run the trick play he could have called a TO much earlier. He could have even faked like he was bitching at a player or another coach to make it look like he wanted them to run the clock down then it wouldn't have been so obvious. Kirk will never change. He's going to make boneheaded play calling and among the worst clock management in the country. It's just not going to change until he retires or is fired.
Kirk sez we just need to "clean a few things up." Great football mind at work!
You honestly don't think they watched our last game where he ran a fake and got a standing ovation? I'm sure it crossed their mind during game prep this week that Ferentz is desperate and likely to try more trick plays.
Lone Clone and cloneswithasigh and their brethren are like "durrr I'm fine with that, as long as we're better than Iowa........no, wait I'm suppose to act somewhat objectively and say that we don't support struggling in the Big 12. That will throw the Iowa fans off for sure!!!"
And the best part is they can't deny it. They'll either not respond or they'll just resort to insults of their own.
Maybe ISU comes out overconfident? Dare I say halftime IOWA adjustments.
