I think it helped the surprise factor. Not trolling or making excuses, I thought it was smart. If the play gets blown up, the ball isn't in ISU's hands. Plus, you don't think it's coming with that 1 second left.

Not a huge fan of that call. However, I don't think a single person would have predicted that.
The problem isn't that Iowa ran the ball on 2nd and 3rd down. The problem is that it should have been out of gun with a 2x2 or 3x1 to spread them out and force them to defend against the shot at the endzone. Trying to run in the phone booth there was the mistake.
I was pretty sure that KF couldn't possibly do anything to amaze me at this point. I was wrong. What a dipshit.

Actually he probably realizes this team isn't going to win many games. So f it, why not.
2nd and short and we run up the middle for next to nothing, waste a timeout.. then do it again and get stuffed... could have used that 2nd down for a shot to the end zone and if incomplete oh well, still 3rd and short..
If they wouldn't have let the clock run down to 1 then everyone in the stadium would have known a fake was coming.

Stunned as I am, I have to acknowledge that this is the first time that I've seen Iowa try a bunch of stuff to win against ISU. CJ cutting loose, the play calls, crazy as they are. Incredibly, despite all the shit that's happened, this team seems more into it than the last several. Gotta give it to CJ for firing up the squad. Not that means that we win.
I agree, Iowa should've at least taken a shot with a pass if KF had that fake in his mind. I don't get it?

You are correct, I should have clarified....we ran a goal line up the middle. If we want to do that.... just QB sneak. Once again our staff out smarts itself.....doesn't take much

I didn't defend the fake dumbo. It's a horrendous call when you need 30+ yards. At the same time, you cannot call timeout earlier and fake it. Anybody who thinks calling timeout earlier was viable is just as dumb as the staff!
