PBP?

As opposed to the flurry of activity from Metcalf. The only committed shot in the last two minutes was from Frank. And he scored. And won.
Admittedly I'm not a freestyle expert but I'm not sure that was a "committed shot" by molinaro.

When he scored last with the push out? Sure looked committed to me. Had Metcalf's leg up in the air. Unless you are talking about the exposure.

Feel bad for Metcalf but he will be the first to tell you that you can let a guy dictate the pace. He let Molinaro do just that.

Really hope Pico stays in Freestyle, there are going to be some epic battles between him and Zain in the future!

The 2 point move was a slip by Metcalf, not saying he tore it up but Frank did nothing, there was a reason he was on the shot clock twice. Real nice crotch grab to the crowd after the win too. Totally classless.

Again...what did Brent do in the last two or so minutes? Nothing other than push. It was a close match and Brent has no offense down the stretch.

You wait your whole life for this moment. Please tell me Metcalf went out in a blaze of glory and not this sitting around waiting for the perfect opportunity crap, especially in Carver to a guy you used to throw around like a rag doll. This is unbelievable.

This is as heartbreaking as it can get. Metcalf's passion and desire are nearly impossible to match. With that alone, I kept expecting him to get it done. Hopefully he can finally channel that passion into coaching and achieve greatness there.

Keep your chin up, Brent. Compared to 99.9% of those that wrestled, your career was simply amazing!

What is next for Metcalf, I assume coaching? Does he stay at Carver as a Coach with HWC, or does he move on? You would assume he will be well sought after this coming year.

Nope. Pushed the pace had a lot of shots, Molinaro put on the clock twice, but seemed content with a one point lead in second and Frank got in on him

I understand the weight isn't qualified yet, but am new to trials and wanted to know if Metcalf was done.

I'd disagree. Metcalf took maybe 3 shots and maybe 2 more half shots. Molinaro did less, but Brent let him keep it close.

Brent will be 30 this summer; Jordan Oliver will be 26; Frank is 27 - I don't mind if the younger wrestlers take over.

I think Striebler our man here.

How does the weight get qualified? Are there some pre-olympic events where a US wrestler has to finish in the top (plug in number) to qualify? I am rather new to the Olympic qualifying process, so if somebody doesn't mind educating guys like me, I'd appreciate it.

Yes & i think there are only 2-3 events left that this can be done at. If I recall they are all international & it will be tough. My question is, does the wualifying wrestler get a wrestleoff

No wrestle off. Whomever wins the trials is our rio representative no matter who qualifies the weight. 145 is a crapshoot regardless. I would expect the winner to be the one trying to qualify

help guys....downloaded the NBCSports app where can you get upcoming matt assignments....watching on phone and everytime I switch matts have to watch the bear commercial just to see who is wrestling

I'm assuming that there is some kind of alternate designated in the event that the trials winner cannot compete in the Olympics? Do they wrestle a true second match?

I wished Pico was dedicated 100% on wrestling. Since he's not, I'm pulling for Frank to take him down. I want a guy who's all in to represent our nation instead of a part timer. That being said, I think Pico beats him.

yea hey just went to track wrestling can see upcoming assignments there....lot of opening and closing stuff but works!

He looks pretty dedicated to me. If he wins, he is going to eat sleep and breath it. Would still have to qualify his spot
