His visit wasn't this weekend. He will be in town for his visit this coming weekend
Any truth to the rumors of Rocco Welsh leaving Columbus?
I have heard it but I haven't asked around. It's so early in the season so much can change in a year .

Don’t like our chances with Bo or Jax after their visit with the Cowboys but I do like our chances over psu’s chances.
Agree. Taylor may have ignored them for 2-3 days when recruiting period opened just to make them sweat, and they did. This told him they were ripe for the picking. We did call them after midnight that day, but if we didn’t I don’t think they would have noticed or cared like they did when Taylor didn’t call. Now he has put the full court press on, with a 3 day visit to include 1 football game, 2 home duels, and yes, had Lockett take them to church. Only negative thing Bo said was the football was boring, but gushed about their meets atmosphere, and said they are trying to get a WWE atmosphere at all home meets. He also rationalized the distance by comparing it to a famous Russian having to move to Siberia to reach his goals. After our visit, all he said was distance is a problem. To cap it off, it looks like Gilman is out at their place spending time with them and working out with them. We are ****ed. This makes landing Ross and the Raneys even more important. They are also looking at Oklahoma state. If Taylor lands all of them, in addition to who he already landed, he just may overtake PSU in the next few years and we will be lucky to be a distant 3rd.
A poster on the Oklahoma st boards said they talked with his mom and she said only Iowa could match the atmosphere. And she said she wished Stillwater was closer to home . Jax really liked his Iowa visit and his dad hasn't been shy letting people know

This…..it doesn’t matter psu, Iowa whoever…..a coach is to fill each weight with the best man…..this is D1, if wrestler “A” can’t find a spot he rides the pine or transfers out, Beard decided to go, Kennedy clearly wants to be a hawk…..I think this is going to become a problem for psu very soon…..not enough weights for what’s in that stable….wouldn’t surprise me to see at least 2 high profile kids leave psu in the near future

We could fit Sealy in nicely at 157 next year if the cut not too bad, then 165 next 3 years. I know people bitch about not going to beat PSU with their cast offs, but many will be better than any other recruit or transfer available to us. Unless heckle can cut to 165, he would have to beat out Gabe or Angelo.

Sealy and Duke will probably always be a similar weight, and Mess and Kasak have 3 years left. kasak could redshirt but if he keeps being high AA may not use it. I think Sealy has to realize the mistake he made not coming to Iowa, and be our 157 for 2 years, then 165 for 2 years.
The great Krailure has a lot of "trouble" ahead as there will be a decent amount of recruits/wrestlers leaving soon! good ol F*** st has TWOOO many wrestlers with no where to go but somewhere else if they want to wrestle. Some think that means getting a "2nd string" kid???
NOT in all cases as some of the Freshman might not be seasoned enough to take out a starter but could improve especially in a room like IOWA!!! BEFORE the bandwagon wanna bees NitWits start their BS, REMEMBER- It has already happened!!! BUBBA, BEARD, SURIANO, have all left and either beaten a kittyKat and or out placed anyone they had!!!
TnT and the HAWKS are in a real great spot to take them out IF they play their cards right!!! I get the "hating" on AJ, but IF you could bring him in(UNDER THE RIGHT CONDITIONS!!!!) That could give you potential CHAMPIONS/FINALISTS/Very HIGH AAs from 165-Heavy!!! and IF Teemer for whatever reason came back at 157, well add another!!!
You then have Deluca coming in and Aylala manning TWOOOO more weights, right there you have 7 or possible 8 weights that have WIN A TEAM TITLE STUDS in them!!! Bring in a couple of HAMMERs through the portal or recruiting like BO, JAX and BOOOM!!!!!

It’s also not really “trouble” That you have so many elite hammers in the room that some have to leave because there’s no spot for them. I’m sure any coach in the country would love to have that sort of “problem”.
I agree. Those are first world problems PSU staff are dealing with, imo.
I don't know whether Cael prays for relief or a continuation of this "trouble."
As for me, I wish we had this "trouble" at every weight. I can't imagine KF losing sleep over having too many 5* QBs on the team.

Totally agree! Letting Taylor go to Okie State was a significant miss by Iowa. He will build a dynasty at OSU by recruiting top talent, similar to Cael. Brands can't compete with those guys on the recruiting trail. Not even close. Let's see where these programs are over the next few years. My guess is it will be PSU / Okie State and then everyone else and that next tier won't even be close.
Will be many more, already lost one recruit to rutgers I believe and I can see 3+ leaving within a year right now!

Unfortunately I agree. We didn’t have a good reason to fire TNT, to take a chance on rookie coach, so the athletic director would have had to convince them to retire. I think the administration went to Smith and told him you can retire immediately or get fired, your choice. This cleared the way for Taylor with no hard feelings from the fans. If we don’t at least get the Raney twins and Ross for 2026, we are going to be behind okyst fast, especially if the get Bo and Forrest. Taylor is recruiting Raneys and Ross also, so he could get them all. PSU are not recruiting Raneys, but could also take all others we want. Bo claims Gillman and other programs on the list are continuing to send coaches out to work with them and some of their wrestlers, which I thought wasn’t allowed. They are also doing more home visits. If we aren’t in this mix, we are screwed. He made it clear he’s looking for a place him and his brother and Melvin would want to be at for years to come. You aren’t just losing him, which I’m sure why PSU is working hard for him even though they are sitting better than anyone with blue chips already on campus.
No, I'm saying they beat Iowa by over 100 points last year. I'll take that bet if you want. LOL.
