With roster sizes limited to 30, there are way too many good wrestlers for there only to be 2 great teams. Iowa will be relevant as long as college wrestling is still a sport.

I agree, and unless you are defining "relevant" as a contender for the national title, they are clearly very much relevant right now this year. Penn State is obviously in the middle of a historic run of dominance that will rival the best eras of Ok St and Iowa history, but Iowa is arguably the second best team in the country right and if not second, at the very least in the second tier of programs below Penn State alone in tier 1. That is "relevant" by almost anyone's definition.

I mean I gave my 2 cents about what SIR IRON would be planning, doing, or trying to put together IF I was an IOWA coach. I stated what I felt was a simple plan. Obviously having the younger Ferrari on the team, should give you some possible INSIGHT into what AJ is thinking moving forward? Also you most likely have a good feel for putting the TWOOOOO brothers on the same team????
I would be open to it IF ALL "requirements" were met. My plan B would be that recent decommit for filling 197. My plan A down in the lower/mid-weights would be BO & Jax with the Raney Brothers plan AA and for me, I would be weighing the costs each will take to make it happen.
In other words while I want BO, I am not exactly sure how much I would pay to get him??? I feel the possible "pipeline" he opens up, MIGHT be worth whatever it takes, but you need to be an insider maybe to get that feel for the whole "package"!!!
I would also add in Ross if he is going to choose wrestling and/or if he is going to try the TWOOOO sport thing like Ben? This is just most of the BIG names in the recruiting front that I would be after, plenty of others I would be eyeing. Then you have the Portal with a handful of kids that you should be keeping an eye on!!!

You're 💯 right. Each step to a goal must be taken in the present. And when some steps are stumbles, the next best step would be advisable. I believe Iowa's AD have already considered AJ a stumble, so alternate plans for 197 would be wise.

Iowa missed a massive opportunity. Timing is everything and they decided not to get into the Taylor sweep stakes. So yea, that’s letting them do it. The reality is that once osu gets rolling, Iowa ain’t catching them. Accept it or keep LOLing yourself to 4th place every year.

Seems like a strange weekend for a visit with the team on the road Friday for double evening duel and no home duel or football game. Maybe only weekend that works for him? We are the best team looking at him. Were we recruiting him before he committed to Arizona State??

I seem to recall you stating a year or two ago that the field was level and that Iowa would not have to wait multiple years to contend for a national title. When pressed you said that would be 2024-25.
