Thanks, I never would have thought about that alternative if you hadn't mentioned it. Would you consider your alternative materially different than the outcome we had? Since Stuelke ended up getting a somewhat similar shot at the end, anyways? Not saying it is or isn't. just Curious.
And if O'grady ends up with the shot that would be her third end of game attempt this year. At what point do say- someone else deserves that opportunity? Or, based on the previous 2 attempts, that's just not a spot that is setting her up for success? If she misses a third end of game shot- that's...tough to justify to the other players. Maybe they have killer O'grady play they are saving for the tournament. Odds are they'll have a chance to use it.
In these circumstances, foul called on the other end, getting no favorable whistle on your drive, and the ref giving the ohio state player a warning for holding instead of just calling a foul, I think the coach is damned no matter what unless the ball goes in.
Jan has consistently given these players chances to make shots to win games. I try to remind myself how many games I don't even see a legit shot attempt go off in this scenario.
