I remember back when Iowa smoked them in the BTT championship she was standing on the sideline laughing uncontrollably after their team had just been destroyed. It was so strange. The way she’s acted watching her play since then confirms it for me she is borderline.

Syd should have been shooting free throws for the win. Nothing else really matters.
I swear the team is snakebit on game winning shots.
Still a little bummed about the possession that ended with Feuerbach's missed 3. It wasn't a bad shot, but wasn't really necessary there either. Lucy had an open pass she could have made to Hannah in low post prior to driving. Gotta wonder if she couldn't have had a short jumper their as well. Woulda coulda.
I think there was opportunity to take a charge in the lane on almost all of those kickout 3s OSU made. Just needed to commit to position, but nobody did it.
They shut down Lucy in the second half, or Lucy stopped trying to find shots. Needed her to take some tough ones. Not sure she scored in the 4th quarter . +20 from Lucy = win.
Iowa needs to make 3s to beat these top tier teams. (I think 8. They hit 7.) Lots of open looks, but they just couldn't get it to go. Big difference in the game. And open layups--from everyone.
Ava Heiden played really well.

Nobody knows or cares who she is and she thinks people do. Lol.
Yeah. She came out at the 2:10 mark after a nice shot block, and the rest is history.
Don't know what was going through Jan's mind. Maybe she wanted a smaller and quicker lineup?
Just got home from the game - why do they issue the refs a whistle if they aren't going to use them?
It is you. Ava isn’t anymore foul prone than HS and she plays better defense. I have no problem with the shot selection at the end of the game, take what they give you, but Ava gives you another great option.

Incidentally, just because this is a perfect example of people thinking they know something that can be easily disproven.
Hannah‘s per 40 minute Fouls is 3.7, Ava’s is 6.3. I think I’ll stick to letting the professional coaches make these decisions🤷♂️
I agree with you completely. Everyone thinks they have the answer after a loss, but the majority of the people on here couldn't come up with a lineup and a play call in a timeout with that much pressure.
It was also pretty quiet the last few days when Iowa won. Jan was pretty smart those nights, apparently.
It gets so old. Not saying Jan is perfect, or any other coach, but it gets old so fast. Sometimes, you just get beat and it doesn't have to be the coach's fault.
I know it's a broken record, but somehow you have to overcome the officials.
This is what McMahon gets away with a lot when she dribbles to get around people. She uses her off hand to chop and shove the defender's hip. It's not a full hook because the elbow never gets around but you're supposed to fully extend like this either.
That said, Stuelke should've kept her distance more and forced McMahon into a contested jump shot. Or tried to jump the pass because we knew they were going to force it to her. As soon as their guard picked up her dribble, Stuelke could've jumped that pass.

Yes, more often than not 🤷♂️I thought she did a great job!
Yep, Lucy a little less output than in other recent games and too many goose eggs from the support cast (AOG, McCabe and Guyton). Missed bunnies really hurt too. That foul that gave fosu the winning points was weak AF.
We lost.. and the polls don’t matter.. but rank us!! We are 1 of the 25 best in college basketball.
It really is shocking to me how little she has played this year. Many games she logged zero minutes. 🤷♂️
Ordinarily I’d agree, but we’ve proven we can play w/UCLA & USC for that matter. We’ve lost 10 games, all to tournament teams, all close.

I thought a noticeable difference in the game was when OSU made 3 or 4 threes later in the game and Taylor missed about 3 good looks around that same time.
They have let them cool down after calling so many on Iowa.
Jan did a really good job in her first year, but that was a mistake imo. It's not just on offense either. Watch Avas help defense and rebounding positioning. She seems to have a very high bball IQ.
