I don’t think he’ll beat Bull or Kem for a spot next year which is why I said 2 years from now.
Should be some solid scrapping going on in a couple years between Brands and Kennedy.
This. Bulls hand fighting was just on another level. Brands is going to be really good, just did everything he could not to get really worked.

Brands was in very deep on a legit shot. Should have finished. I agree Marinelli was at no risk of losing but Brands wrestled well.
Both Brands and Glosser went right to the weights after their losses too. These guys are going to use this as fuel to improve. Great to see. Overall, very encouraging performance from the hawks!
First Cashman is going to be really good..
2) Desanto is Iowa..he is agression and pressure and everything Iowa. Glenn did nothing except block.
3) Murin/Turk see this battle continue all year.
4)Lugo is 149 and seams to be the apparent heir
5)Glossner/Young...don't be surprised if this is decided by Midlands
6)Brands has some detractors, I'm not! I've said it many times he is going to be great. He learns and adjusts at an incredible rate. He isn't 165 and if he wasn't auto redshirt he would be 157. That's from a few coaches by me. Nelson had no workout partners of any quality at ICW and now that he is in the Iowa room I expect even better. Brands can get in but right now hes not willing to fight for it. Little lengthy, but really disappointed about some comments who think hes not that good.
7) Bowman/ $...hope cash wrestles in dual meets like he does in wrestle offs.

157 is far from settled. Glosser was in deep more often than Young and it was Glossers shot in OT that Young scrambled out of and was close to not being a TD anyways. This is gonna be drawn out through Midlands. This is probably the closest weight.
One comment on Turk: he’s been in the room 4 years and he still can’t get out from bottom. That’s why Murin has it on lock down.

Agreed with you on Brands. One of the most impressive guys to lose today. Glosser as well. He's right there with Young.
Apparently coaches are not allowing the Cassioppi-Stoll match to happen because Stoll's knee is still recovering. Was going to make the drive to Iowa City to watch the match until I found out this morning it wasn't happening.
Doesn’t sound like it’s settled... close although seems like some conditioning would put Murin over the top
Exactly - too many people give Turk points for “almost” or “wrestled tough”. Whoever wrestles 41 needs to beat ranked guys consistently

It was never on the schedule.
Was never the point. I just feel like people act like he's trash. It was a small point and admittedly I might have a misconception. I'm a big Murin fan, FWIW.

I was impressed by Cashman, he wasn't afraid of Lee and took at least one good shot.
Desanto took a swipe at glynn at the end, hope the coaches can help him channel his emotions, he is intense.
Turk and Murin looked fairly even, was disappointed with murins stalling late in the match.
Lugo is thick and quick.
Felt bad for Glosser, I thought he was more aggressive than young. I thought he and not young had the takedown in ot.
Wilcke looked slim and trim and actually fun to watch.
Several of our boys have added more tats.

I said two years ago I never witnessed a kid improve so much so fast. The first time I watched him he didn’t belong on a wrestling mat. Two years later a totally different human. Raw as hell but he got after it. The sky is the limit for that dude. He’s going to be a beast. No idea what his ceiling is, but he won’t be fun to wrestle. You’ll have your hands full. Mat skills will be improved and the relentless attacks will only get better. That motor has been passed down.
It's hard for me to get Iowa City right now with my son coming into our lives. Little fella is pretty needy just like me! Looking to get some posters ect. for his baby room. Glosser hit the weights hard this year. Solid looking dude. His thighs are huge. He is a solid 57 pounder.

Lol, I never lived vicariously through them, but when you have a natural destroying everyone and becoming a local celebrity phenom you hate to see that wasted. He did crack from the attention and making kids run off the mat crying to their coaches. Nobody would practice with him at frickin’ Denver on Sundays. That’s the big time night in this area. He’s been in therapy and has only been practicing and wrestling his three older brothers for a year and a half, but now that the Schwab boys have committed to wrestling, he’s all in again. That was his stipulation. BOD is back better than ever and it’s good for Iowa wrestling. You’ll see.
This post doesn’t help my cause, does it? Don’t care, I gotta freak of nature. Just ask and I’ll tell you all of his athletic accomplishments. Best athlete in Waterloo without question.
