Nelson Brands will win a national title. I’m going with motor, drive and lineage. This guy is raw, has wrestled a short time compared to many at this level. He’s never had good workout partners. Bull, Young, Kem will turn him into an animal.
Honestly I think Brandon Sorensen will be his best training partner. Very hard to score on and gives you a tough ride. Work on getting in on him with that high pace and work on bottom.Nelson Brands will win a national title. I’m going with motor, drive and lineage. Lol, I never lived vicariously through them, but when you have a natural destroying everyone and becoming a local celebrity phenom you hate to see that wasted. He did crack from the attention and making kids run off the mat crying to their coaches. Nobody would practice with him at frickin’ Denver on Sundays. That’s the big time night in this area. He’s been in therapy and has only been practicing and wrestling his three older brothers for a year and a half, but now that the Schwab boys have committed to wrestling, he’s all in again. That was his stipulation. BOD is back better than ever and it’s good for Iowa wrestling. You’ll see.
This post doesn’t help my cause, does it? Don’t care, I gotta freak of nature. Just ask and I’ll tell you all of his athletic accomplishments. Best athlete in Waterloo without question.
Avatar, homie. Two years ago, way bigger now. Waterloo has a mayor’s run for fourth graders and he smoked everyone. My kids finished 2, 1, 4, 1 in that race out of one thousand kids. He has the record for highest scores in the the physical fitness test in his school district now. He’s the real deal and he’s ready to wrestle. His cousin Charlie Jones is a state champ and he wants to be one himself now. Good times ahead for all four boys. All four have chance, but my midget is special. I haven’t talked this shit in years so I’m done now. Just saying. I’m not humble.
WTH, Marinelli still has a huge knee brace on???? What’s the scoop on that?
I liked it ironically. This should have received no likes.

This kid is going to have a hard time growing up to satisfy his dads ego...Well they don’t know shit.
I liked it vicariously through TarpI liked it ironically.
Admittedly, Austin took that swipe, but he did keep his cool when Glynn karate chopped him in the neck right at the whistle. That’s a good sign.Mullet is gone.
I was impressed by Cashman, he wasn't afraid of Lee and took at least one good shot.
Desanto took a swipe at glynn at the end, hope the coaches can help him channel his emotions, he is intense.
Turk and Murin looked fairly even, was disappointed with murins stalling late in the match.
Lugo is thick and quick.
Felt bad for Glosser, I thought he was more aggressive than young. I thought he and not young had the takedown in ot.
Wilcke looked slim and trim and actually fun to watch.
Several of our boys have added more tats.

I missed the karate chop. Everything must be taken in context. Thanks for the clarification! I'm a big fan of Austin's and I want him to succeed in wrestling and in life!Admittedly, Austin took that swipe, but he did keep his cool when Glynn karate chopped him in the neck right at the whistle. Desanto got chopped and head butted and several times complained to the ref. It seamed that Glenn's strategic approach was to block with his head, never take a shot and frustrate Desanto. Personally Glenn should have been called for stalling, but I believe it's only going to help Austin in the long run.
For those who question about the ot takedown...I also saw it as Glossner. This one may be decided by who is more willing to execute and score points.
Hopefully Next year maybe they can wrestle off in the old Fieldhouse, charge one can of food for admission or maybe a gift for the kids Hospital and really fill it up.
Which fun wrestler performed way beyond last year at the ncaas?Like the depth of this team. Problem for Hawks lately is a hole or two in line-up and one or two kids under perform, combined with PSU or tOSU having a kid or two perform way beyond their means at nationals.
This will be a common phrase this year applied to Lee’s opponentsCashman looked good for not scoring a point and getting pinned.
I took heat for saying I wouldn’t be surprised if Brands could beat Young now. Also took heat for projecting Nelson’s career as a 3-4 time AA/1-2 time champ. Time will tell.
Going to East or West?

Kem was going hard prior to the wrestleoffs. Nothing seemed wrong. Bigger question for me is what’s going on with Renteria? Showed up for 2 minutes, talked to Terry, and then left. Seemed odd.Somebody asked about Kemdog - he was walking around in sweats during wrestleoffs. It looked like they had a practice before wrestleoffs - most of the guys were pretty sweaty, but not Kem. I don’t know if he showered after practice or didn’t work out, but he looked good and healthy. I assume he showered, because even if he was nicked up, I would imagine he would have been riding the bike, etc. Not sure why he didn’t participate this week - anybody know?

Nothing has changed. Just more seeing and saying what I took heat for months ago. Spooner would you like to wager on Nelson’s career stats? What's changed to show you're being proven right? Btw, I hope you are.
His first goes to Columbus.
It's all an act. You realize this right? And his wife is super hot. That's no act though.

Brands was ranked #93 on Flo's Class of 2018 Big Board a year ago.Ok. Just checking because your post reads like a bragging victory lap of some sort. And no, why would I bet against a Hawkeye, especially when I want you to be right?
I think the data had him grossly under ranked to start with.Brands was ranked #93 on Flo's Class of 2018 Big Board a year ago.
He beat #62 Ho, #50 Dow, and Class of '19 #27 Kanniard en route to a third-place finish at Fargo three months ago.
This week he held NCAA semifinalist Marinelli to a 6-3 decision.
The data suggests he's improving.
