Nelson Brands will win a national title. I’m going with motor, drive and lineage. This guy is raw, has wrestled a short time compared to many at this level. He’s never had good workout partners. Bull, Young, Kem will turn him into an animal.

Honestly I think Brandon Sorensen will be his best training partner. Very hard to score on and gives you a tough ride. Work on getting in on him with that high pace and work on bottom.
Avatar, homie. Two years ago, way bigger now. Waterloo has a mayor’s run for fourth graders and he smoked everyone. My kids finished 2, 1, 4, 1 in that race out of one thousand kids. He has the record for highest scores in the the physical fitness test in his school district now. He’s the real deal and he’s ready to wrestle. His cousin Charlie Jones is a state champ and he wants to be one himself now. Good times ahead for all four boys. All four have chance, but my midget is special. I haven’t talked this shit in years so I’m done now. Just saying. I’m not humble.

He's giving it a couple years to see if it will heal on its own before opting for surgery.
I took heat for saying I wouldn’t be surprised if Brands could beat Young now. Also took heat for projecting Nelson’s career as a 3-4 time AA/1-2 time champ. Time will tell.

Admittedly, Austin took that swipe, but he did keep his cool when Glynn karate chopped him in the neck right at the whistle. That’s a good sign.
I thought Glynn seemed to be the one that was getting more frustrated as the match went on.
I missed the karate chop. Everything must be taken in context. Thanks for the clarification! I'm a big fan of Austin's and I want him to succeed in wrestling and in life!
Desanto got chopped and head butted and several times complained to the ref. It seamed that Glenn's strategic approach was to block with his head, never take a shot and frustrate Desanto. Personally Glenn should have been called for stalling, but I believe it's only going to help Austin in the long run.
For those who question about the ot takedown...I also saw it as Glossner. This one may be decided by who is more willing to execute and score points.
Hopefully Next year maybe they can wrestle off in the old Fieldhouse, charge one can of food for admission or maybe a gift for the kids Hospital and really fill it up.

I liked Glosser’s response to the loss though, it seemed like he wanted to blow up and argue the call but caught himself, got his emotions in check and hit the weight room.
The wrestler who most exceeded my expectations was Wilcke. He controlled the match and had some really nice TD’s.
Glosser and Young were a tossup.

Somebody asked about Kemdog - he was walking around in sweats during wrestleoffs. It looked like they had a practice before wrestleoffs - most of the guys were pretty sweaty, but not Kem. I don’t know if he showered after practice or didn’t work out, but he looked good and healthy. I assume he showered, because even if he was nicked up, I would imagine he would have been riding the bike, etc. Not sure why he didn’t participate this week - anybody know?
Kem was going hard prior to the wrestleoffs. Nothing seemed wrong. Bigger question for me is what’s going on with Renteria? Showed up for 2 minutes, talked to Terry, and then left. Seemed odd.

Had a great time the last 2 days. Some good wrestling. Observations for me:
1. Coach Brands took the time to say hi and shake hands. Says a lot about him for I am just a random guy in the stands. The lady in the wrestling office gave me a free media guide just for stopping to ask for directions to the wrestling room.
2. Spencer is in mid season form.
3. Glynn and Desanto don't have any love lost there. I think we got Gilman II for attitude. Cant wait for some of those interviews from AD.
4. Glosser has nothing to hang his head for. Caleb is really good and that was a very tight match.
5. Brando was tough as nails but we are going to see more team points from Lugo.
6. Turk hasn't changed much. But still think this weight is far from settled. One has got to separate themselves.
7. Cash is more offensive minded this year.
8. Warner is definitely high AA this year.
9. Really wanted to see Rentiera in the 41 mix.

Brands was ranked #93 on Flo's Class of 2018 Big Board a year ago.
He beat #62 Ho, #50 Dow, and Class of '19 #27 Kanniard en route to a third-place finish at Fargo three months ago.
This week he held NCAA semifinalist Marinelli to a 6-3 decision.
The data suggests he's improving.
I liked that Cashman was ready to scrap & gave it a hard go. Got thumped by Spencer like everyone else will, but kid didn't back down. DeSanto will win matches by physically and mentally breaking guys. Kid is relentless. 41 is far from settled and probably gonna be an unpopular comment, but I really think Turk will be manning the spot come Big 10s. Not taking anything from Murin but I think Turk will continue to step his game up. 149, I'm real glad Lugo is a Hawk. Glosser/Young, the competition between these 2 are going to keep making them better and excited for whichever earns the spot. The Bull is the Bull... tough, hard nosed, gritty winner. I fully expect Brands to be our guy at 57 next year and he's driven to be the best. When he won his 3rd State title he commented on one upping his dad. Hopefully he's planning on continuing that mind set winning 3 National Titles vs Terry's 2. Kem, even though did not compete at wrestle offs he's gonna be in the top 3. Wilcke looks good, real good at 84. Doesn't look like he lost any strength on his way down and moves a lot better not carrying the extra weight. Really think he'll be a solid AA. Warner is gonna make a statement early & never look back. Kid's the real deal!! Cass is gonna be awesome when he hits the lineup next year & Costello will push him & make him better. Stoll will be a National Champ this year.

Im loving all takes on the the wrestle offs its sounds to me like the guys are ready. Im really happy to hear Cash is ready I have him as a mid AA this year.
