Ben VanSumeren to Michigan

You didn't have to tell me that you aren't college educated, I already surmised that. You have a "higher earning potential than 90% of the world"...LOL.
Good for you...does that make you feel better about your lack of education? Your insecurity is painfully obvious.
But I digress.

Firstly, you are wrong on the NFL players thing, but that's OK, I wouldn't expect you to be
a good counter. M put 22 in the NFL this year. I really don't need to extoll the traditions of Michigan football, I'm pretty secure with that.
Michigans worst losses would be at Penn State and Michigan St. Iowas worst losses were Purdue and an embarrassing day at Wisconsin.
You trying to put lipstick on a pig is fine by me, just not honest. Michigan has underperformed this year no doubt, but your team was not good, hence
a bid to the Pinstripe Bowl.

Finally, you should use that "that thirst for knowledge" to understand that everyone that lives in the US, has a "higher earning potential than 90% of the world"...in
fact the number is closer to 99%. Maybe you could pull out your Webster's to get a better grasp as to the meaning of "potential."
Have a good night, hope your self education goes well.

But honestly when it comes right down to it, why would anyone in here expect you to frame a good debate. You jumped in and committed a cardinal sin right of the bat, by "ass*uming" we/me were upset about the "flip". When even a cursory investigation would have yield, many if not the majority are not. You would have then found that many were empathetic and felt bad for the kid having to struggle so. You then proceeded to think I would somehow care or be offended by you suggesting UM was a "higher" academic institution and then tried to cover by attempting to disparage my intelligence. Furthermore making the mistake that I would somehow be intimidated by your very crass, even boorish attempt to "embarrass" me......Honestly your efforts wouldn't even make the top 100 of trollers/shamers/debators in here.

Send your Dad back, maybe his pretentiousness might be worthy of our abilities....

They are ranked 34-give him a break. Compensating is hard work.

Wow, I’m surprised
There were quite a few posts here saying the exact same thing about Karan Higdon a few years ago and he has done just fine at Michigan being their leading rusher this season. Talking about how he'd get recruited over and never get off the bench and on and on and on.

VanSumeren is probably going to play from day 1. He will be one of only 2 scholarship fullbacks on the roster next season for a coach that likes to play 2 or 3 at a time sometimes.

Yes to be honest with you I don't get it. This silly argument is self deprecating at the best and quite frankly Higdon wouldn't be any further up the depth chart if he was in Iowa right now than he already is.

Martin might've been because of our wide receiver issues, but Ben isn't any more likely to leap up the chart here at TE than H-back at UM. In fact less likely considering our TE depth.

Dumb argument in my mind.

I'd rather have Michigans season over Iowas if that's what you're asking. You seem to be saying that the trajectory of the Iowa program is on the rise and these kids are missing out?
You are starting to sound like a Cyclone, basing your season on one win.

Michigan's season was not great. Lost worse to in-state Darth Vader (Dantonio) than the Hawks did. You can't lose to Mich State and Ohio State and say it was a GREAT season! C'mon man. Now you get the parting gift of playing South Carolina?!??!?! Ouch!

They are approaching Husker fandom levels of delusion!

In all honesty they really are probably worse. I mean if you think about it Nebraska won 9+ games for 30 years in a row, they won three national championships in the 90s. Michigan won a championship in 97 and the last one before that was 1948. Of their 11 national championships most of them were around the turn-of-the-century, 30s and then 47 & 48.

They had several sub .500 team is in the 50s and 60s. Quite frankly their claim to fame came between 1900-1948 and then when Schembechler got there in the early 70s and dominated a terrible, borderline heinous big 10. He never even won a national championship.

Sure... great...they're one of the all-time winningest programs in history, but they haven't done anything meaningful in 70 years outside of a few great seasons. Hell Iowa has had a few great seasons of their own right in the last 40 years.

They don't even belong in the same breath as Alabama & Ohio State. Or for that matter Miami, Florida State, Florida.. all teams that have won multiple national championships in the last 40 years.

Here's the truth from a michigan fan

OSU,PSU and ND mopped the floor with us this recruiting cycle...If you look at our class, 70% of it is plan C and D.

Harbaugh had to pick a battle he could win,he chose an easy target in Ben(michigan fan) who will probably transfer to central or western michigan in 2 years.

Well to be fair, ND regardless of recruiting rankings is wildly up and down and it's my option PSU, is still just another Big ten team. tOSU is a juggernaut, they and Alabama are on a whole other level.

Or as my 5 year old says...Nother

Clemson is right there also

Agree about PSU, we will kick their ass next year in the Big House, OSU will be another loss for us.

Did I say Michigan had a "great" or even good season? We'll enjoy the Holidays on the Beach, thanks. Now throw on that Winter coat and pay $400 a night at the
Pinstripe Bowl. LOL. Michigan envy is an awful thing huh?

LOL! Lost to Spartans and the Buckeyes, and not just this year but last year too!!!! Old Khaki pants can't solve that rubiks cube. Isn't their something just a little bizarre about a guy who dresses exactly like his coach from the 1980s???????

Well in a way it's pretty flattering and no I don't care for Jimmy nor have I thought he is the be-all, end-all coach that many of the guys on here have.

But honestly Michigan only recruits marginally better than us based on players in the NFL. In fact we've been very close with them over the last 15 years as far as NFL alumni, past them typically and this just goes further proving they like how we evaluate talent. It will be OK.

I'll tell you this Iowa has a pretty good track record of "identifying" a position and if they really thought he was an outside linebacker then I'm going to assume that's what he was. If he goes to Michigan screws around for a couple years trying to be a TE and then position switches, he'll be behind the eight ball.

And honestly Nixon didn't switch to Alabama, Johnson doesn't appear to have switched to LSU, Petras did switch...we were due.

not going to play lb or te at michigan. they recruited him for H back. they really like his ability to block and catch the ball. he lead the state with 85 catches. good chance he plays a ton on special teams also as a freshmen

Yes I know what an H-back, he's a combo player part FB, part TE.

And just in case you come back to try to re-explain to me… "No, no An H-back at Michigan is… "

An H-back is an offensive position in American football. The H-back lines up similarly to a tight end, but is "set back" from the line of scrimmage, and is thus counted as one of the four "backs" in the offensive formation.

You can get a room at the W on Lex & 7th for $125. Great hotel, great location. FYI spoke 8. Do some research bf you spout off. Btw your bowl game v SC is as big of a yawner as any bowl game this year.
Michigan is just another mediocre program now. Fact
