Well he paid for a blue check mark. Musk be credible.

Naw, you have it all wrong..Alford was buying a new suit and pulled the "do you know who I am card?" He wanted it on the house...Heard he purchased a lawn mower. The guy that sold it to him was impressed he didn’t try and get it for free because of who he is. Or something like that….😉jk
Yep, reminds me of the Gronowski saga, lots of smoke and then random X accounts and 'sources' jumping on the bandwagon...Be careful with these "sources." That Valley Maddness guy can't even get credentials to the MVC tournament. A lot of people out there are just seeking free clout.
My bad, couldn’t remember what it was but thought there was an incident with buying a lawn mower for some reason. He maybe was just being an a** on that one?Naw, you have it all wrong..Alford was buying a new suit and pulled the "do you know who I am card?" He wanted it on the house...![]()
I've heard the same thing aside from the "small sticking point" between camps.
G-damn it, I told them to keep my role in all this under wraps!!!What I heard elsewhere..take it with a grain of salt...
They raised the money for both buyouts, the new salary, and some for Carver renovations, in part from a new donor out of Arizona. Said Iowa wants to keep some of the future NIL money in house. Finally said discussions with DeVries hit a small sticking point, but expected it to be worked out soon.
I think he did this at multiple IC business...probably did try it with a mower too!My bad, couldn’t remember what it was but thought there was an incident with buying a lawn mower for some reason. He maybe was just being an a** on that one?
One word I didn’t see mentioned there was recruiting. Does DeVries get the edge on that ? The direct comment that McCullum might be a better Xs and Os coach is a little concerning. In the end you gotta win. This is a good summary comparison between McCollum and DeVries. DD is the right guy.
Per a discussion w/ a contact (well connected business man in the community) in Applington-Parkersburg (DD's hometown of course) area, the IA and DeVries camps have been talking for months now. It has nothing to do with the relative timing of Drake still being in a tourney and WVU not. IA has had the money together for awhile to buy out DD contract and add to the NIL to make us competitive (something IA recognizes & DD insisted on). Furthermore, it sounds like the administration recognizes this is the time for a complete reboot on many fronts (marketing, student engagement, big donor funding, moving forward w/ CHA renovation, etc.) and has a good start on funding same.
This has been a done deal for sometime. There is a reason DD sat on the WVU extension for half the season. I'd be stunned if this info isn't essentially correct.
DD will be an outstanding coach here at IA to take us to the next level. He's an Iowa guy through and through. As others have said, this is his dream job.
One would think with all the wealthy dentists, Dr's, lawyers, etc along with the C-store CEO, etc someone would step up and sounds like they are now with a new regime coming. Iowa bball reboot is coming...love it.G-damn it, I told them to keep my role in all this under wraps!!!
That is because the Lickliter style was to field a team of sub par athletes and get blown out of the gym by 1st half.I hated the style of play. It was the most boring basketball I've ever seen.

Counting his Creighton years, DeVries has been recruiting at the D1 level for over 20 years, so I expect he has an advantage there. One word I didn’t see mentioned there was recruiting. West Virginia has 3 commits for the Class of 2025.
I wonder if any would have interest in Iowa City
Damn - what music to my ears! This is a good summary comparison between McCollum and DeVries. DD is the right guy.

buddy of mine said there is a sticking point, no idea what, and is not as confident this gets done. you still confident?Counting his Creighton years, DeVries has been recruiting at the D1 level for over 20 years, so I expect he has an advantage there.
I am confident it gets done.buddy of mine said there is a sticking point, no idea what, and is not as confident this gets done. you still confident?
A little light on the offers but the right direction.
What's the sticking point (second reference to that) if you know and don't mind sharing?buddy of mine said there is a sticking point, no idea what, and is not as confident this gets done. you still confident?
i do not. he just said it.What's the sticking point (second reference to that) if you know and don't mind sharing?
You have to have a history on Hawkeye sites to get this. Well played, sir!I saw DD on a moped driving by campus. He’ll be starting by mid-season

There are always sticking points when negotiating contracts. Lawyers are involved. All will be resolved soon. Both parties know that time is of the essence.i do not. he just said it.
I could be wrong and probably am but Devries built from the ground up what McCollum was coaching with this season though, right? I mean sans Tucker Devries obviously.Personally, I'd take either of DD or BM. But maybe this is a case of striking while the irons hot?
BM only had one returner from DeVries’ squad. The Drake roster this year is essentially his D2 guys plus a couple Wyoming transfers.I could be wrong and probably am but Devries built from the ground up what McCollum was coaching with this season though, right? I mean sans Tucker Devries obviously.
Ah, much appreciated. So McCollum does appear to be able to do it independently and on his own immediately too.BM only had one returner from DeVries’ squad. The Drake roster this year is essentially his D2 guys plus a couple Wyoming transfers.
I have wood.
Yeah, you don't buy a snowblower at this time of year unless you are planning on sticking around. For what it is worth I just saw someone at Theisens in Coralville that was wearing a WVU hat buying a snow blower on sale, I’m not saying it was DD….but….obviously someone who is putting down roots…

Alford’s was better though….We seem to have a good track record of hiring good hair…Lute, Dr Tom, can’t recall’s Raveling’s though…🤷♂️Fran has a much better hairline so I hardly see how this would be an improvement.
There’s no way this is accurate. No coach agrees to 4 year contracts. 5 is the minimum for P5 schools with 6-7 years being the standard these days.
