I lost any respect for DSJ after he "quit" after his quarterfinal? loss in OKC in 2014.
I do like their fire. This wrestling match has gotten a little stale recently, fun to see some fireworks.
I had some minor interactions with him when he would workout at USA mat club in cedar falls. Seemed like a really nice kid. I saw he and Michael Kelly scrap really hard in there. Very even despite the weight difference.
The double stalls were very funny, but Brands was moving forward the entire match and was very actively looking for openings. That guy was was on ice skates and did everything he could to avoid wrestling. Thats not on Nelson for no action
ADS didn’t deserve an elbow to the head. He took him off the mat weakly.

ADS got an elbow, ISU's heavy gave the shoulder check to Cass coming back onto the mat which was the only offense he had all night... meh, our guys will live.
A little hint, neither did that ref. Stalled out their HWT while calling double stalls in the ADS match. Guy was cluesless

Can we please end the Myles Wilson dog-and-pony show and let Assad wrestle? He needed that match more than he needed another week of writing "I will not lose to a high schooler again" on the chalkboard 100 times. Wilson isn't scoring points at NCAAs. Everyone knows that. The charade is getting old.

There was chippiness on both sides, and I'm generally okay with it. But not with Telford instigating a team point loss. It didn't affect the outcome, and it was petty on Dresser's part to cry about it to the ref for 10 minutes until he got his pout-pout way. But it was probably deserved.
Go out, win the matches, win the meet. That's how you shut them up. Not all this extracurricular crap--after a lackluster performance, no less, against a team that has no right being in the same arena with the Hawks.

Was the team deduction on Iowa from Telford or Terry? The pics show Terry had run right over to the ISU bench.
I thought DeSanto did the right thing at the end of that match. He held the lead and decided if he's not going to wrestle and pray for some last second miracle, neither am I.
The way it was going and being called bonus wasn't in the cards, he thought it thru and came away with a relatively easy W. Worked for me.
Uuummmm yeah, it is on Nelson for no action. Look how easy it was when he actually made a concerted effort. He won in OT and left a potential major on the mat, IMO.
I don't know. I'm trying to sort through all the camera angles on Twitter to see the start of it. Apologies to Telford if it wasn't his fault. We can't let stuff like that happen.
If Dresser wants to stop the beatdowns or end the series...I'm sure the Hawks wouldn't care. This dual has no benefit to Iowa and, financially, would hurt ISU.

No one is going to end iowa vs iowa state. It's part of the Cy hawk series which has sponsored contracts.
Terry often heads quickly through the handshake like that right after the final whistle. Has even been known to hurdle a scorers table in the process. I’m guessing this happened and ISU was wondering wtf he was doing over there and it escalated from there. I wasn’t there and it’s hard to tell in the few videos what really happened………other than Dresser and Metcalf bitching at the refs well after anyone connected to Iowa wrestling had left the mat area.
Dresser likely will be seeing some problems in the wrestling room based on how he's treated Degen.
It seems the frustration in the program boiled over tonite and the Hawks weren't backing down.
And it's fairly obvious Metcalf and DSJ are still bitter about not being on the Hawk staff.
