Iowa State PBP

Tom and Terry were okay shaking hands but Bobby was not. He was a man with bad intentions.
Victory for ISU to win 4 matches
Win for Iowa
Iowa needs to score more and win by larger points
We don't need to let ISU get extra cocky
We won't ahve Brands up here as it's hard to Tom u p and with everything, it's a good time to let him coach
22-11 final (I think)

** Edit, Terry maybe wasn't 100% okay with the handshake, needing to talk first...

Total crap. The confrontation was 100% mutual. Unfortunate, but if Iowa deserved a point deduction, so did ISU. Pollard and Dresser were lobbying the refs for 10 minutes after the teams had left the arena for a point deduction for Iowa. Zero input from an Iowa coach. Total bush league but exactly what you’d expect from Dresser.

You have to look at it from the ISU perspective. Losing however many in a row it is... maybe 20? has to be a tough pill to swallow. Dresser probably tried to sell Pollard that he was the one that could beat the Hawks.

Couple the fact that ISU hasn't made much progress vs Iowa with how TnT are smothering Dresser on the recruiting trail and you get this result.

You may want to send him a fruit basket tomorrow. You can add some grapes to the oranges. And, a signed photo of Bobby T. woudl be nice. ;)

Agreed on Dresser being a punk but I do think a few of our bench wrestlers have gotten a tad out of hand yelling crap this year. It doesn’t bother me, but it’s not gonna play well with refs and opposing fans.

FWIW - that makes 17 in a row now.
20 is coming up fast!

Noone gives a shit if a school's wrestling team gets feisty. CF calling for an NCAA intervention on the program haha

Telford was fired up because the shoulder crap against Big Tone, he was yelling ”that’s some real tough guy stuff” to somebody, who ever that was is the person that was going to receive a big Bobby beat down.

ISU fans are quite upset with the behavior of Iowa's team and coaches. I didn't see it, but they've never seen such classless behavior I guess.

I thought Kyven did an excellent job of commentating. Good for him. I'm surprised they were put right next to the Iowa bench. Wowza

Another year, another ass beating for the Cyclones. Whats new?!

Bummed about Warner. Thought he had that TD forsure. Smart by Batista to go neutral in the 3rd. Jacob definitely looked a bit off, but he didn't seem to favor the knee too much imo, so that's good. Hopefully he turns it up towards March.

Side note- I wish he would wear wrestling shoes that aren't bright neon. Makes his feet big bright targets. Not sure why that drives me nuts every year I see them on him.

All of that was 100% mutual. ISU’s coaches and wrestlers were taunting and pointing all night. Every bit as much as we were if not more. St. John, in particular, was especially determined to act like an idiot. Dresser wasn’t much better. Carr was running his mouth at our wrestlers often after his match.

I don’t like seeing any of that from our bench, but ISU was as guilty if not more. The penalty point was a matter of principle. Absolutely horse crap that they assessed that. Typical Dresser and Pollard, and those refs should be embarrassed that they got hoodwinked into deducting a point from Iowa, without giving Iowa an opportunity to argue their case. It meant nothing except a little moral victory for a petty coach. Unreal that the refs went along with that sham.

Agree on Kyven. He was very unbiased and had a lot of really good input.

I too wish we had some sort of team consensus on footwear but such is life.

I agree. I thought Kyven did an excellent job and wasn't showing any bias in his announcing and giving great insight from both sides' perspectives. I think the other guy was talking too much and had some clear bias (which is fine, it was a Cyclone broadcast).

But it's nice when it's two people who understand wrestling. I love it when their is a mat return and the play by play guy is like "another nice takedown there".

Yeah I hear ya and I get it. I don’t mind it being a little chippy. Iowa just has a bad rap and every team tries to get a point deducted from us.

3rd period
ADS telling Gadsen to comment on that
So he has to explain how his guy ran into TC on purpose
TC riding tough and another SW so it's like 9-0
RT is over 3 minl
TC SWout
58 left
I will say this, TC was a little rough on the oob so that shoulder check wasn't like out of the blue but the shoudler check was something
Almost like the elbow that ADS received. I saw nothing wrong with it since ADS pushed the guy off the mat, across the hardwood and into Gadsen. This dual has everything.

Love how he calmly asked Desanto if he wanted the mic lol. Can't be easy to stay as collected as he was with all the craziness from the Iowa bench right by him
He has been around and has wrestled with and knows most of these guys, I’m sure there is plenty of mutual respect and he knew what to expect. Was funny and quick though.

I might be in the minority, but I love the Iowa Bad Boy image.

And given their dislike of Dresser, I think TnT were doing a bit of "trolling" to the ISU coaching staff.

As far as Pollard getting involved tonite...I think he's trying to make up for last Sunday's diss of the wrestling program.

I thought it hilarious that in the Desanto match there were two double stall calls, and in the ultra-super-boring-Brands-do-nothing-in-regulation there wasn't.

Yep. I have never been a fan that complained about stalling, but tonight was bad, really, really bad......

I now officially have no idea what is considered stalling these days.

Used to love St John before tonight. He acted like a punk.
It's not just tonight. He's been acting that way since he left IC. That other guy had it right, he belongs with that trash, kills me to say it.
