The most under appreciated player under Fran. Iowa’s D efficiency under Fran was at its best woodys junior and senior year. He had limitations on offense for sure, but was a nice 4 year starter.Woodbury started from day 1. Just saying.

No shit.No offense Lone but doesn’t Iowa State have 7 newcomers every year now? I get bringing in a grad transfer as needed but you can’t keep losing 3-4-5 guys every year and trying to replace them.
Foster has always been considered a semi-project, including by himself, if you read his comments during the past year.
ISU is not good. SDS is pretty good. I was pleased and a little surprised that ISU came back to make a game of it. Shot 4-23 beyond the arc and trailed by double digits virtually all game, down 16 midway through the second half, cut it to a point in the final minute.
Looks like a team with 7 newcomers that didn't practice because of the pandemic. Question isn't how they'll do in the early season. We all know the answer to that. Question is whether they'll get better.
Right now, I'd say people like him and want him to succeed, but don't think he will. What is the general sentiment of the ISU fanbase on your coach?
Yours is a good assessment of ISU basketball this season. Iowa has 5 newcomers, but none are expected to be major contributors. ISU’s 7 newcomers are basically the core of the team. It’ll take time for the Clones, but they’re going to improve as the season goes along. They have a lot of good pieces.
Foster will eventually be a decent-good player. I’m not sold on his NBA future (although, 2 games really isn’t much of a baseline), but he’ll be a fine college player. I’d certainly be happy if he chose the Hawks.

Take a look at big men each class that are rated around where Foster was (66th overall in the class).
They usually don't produce much their first year.
Woody didn't offer much on the offensive end, but he was a very solid defender to have in the middle. Despite not being much of a classic rim protecting big man given his relatively short wingspan and limited elevation, he knew where he needed to position himself. He also knew where his teammates should be and did a good job quarterbacking the defense from that center position.Woodbury was great on defense.
It also helped having guards like Gesell and Clemmons that were good defenders.

It’s just a matter of time before he gets fired and you get Hoiberg back.
I don't know that your premise is accurate, but I would think a lot of high 4 star big men are going to teams that are already good and don't need them to produce right away. That certainly isn't the case with Foster and I would bet most of your fans were expecting him to shine in the games played so far.
I don't think Fred would come back to ISU as basketball coach. AD, maybe. It’s just a matter of time before he gets fired and you get Hoiberg back.
I checked around to see what some of the other 5 star recruits are doing. The vast majority are major contributors to their team. Some are team leaders in terms of personal stats. I believe Caitlen Clark was a 5 star. She seems to be fitting in nicely.
Foster thinks he is Kevin Durrant. He didn’t want to bang around or crash the boards in 3A Iowa high school. I seriously doubt he has the stomach to mix it up in power 5.
He needs to redshirt and mature. Physically and mentally.
I think he got tired of the Ames cops calling him at 3 AM and informing him that another one of his players was in trouble.Fred thinks most ISU fans are too weird. He'll never be back.
That ship has sailed.
You think? You're probably right but X Boy strikes me as the kind of kid that would change horses after another terrible ISU season in which he saw little playing time (the early trend).
Of course, we may not have the schollies and/or are no longer interested. Should it happen, however likely that may be, Cyclown nation will lose what little is left of their collective mind.
Don't be shocked if X Boy (not really playing like a man) transfers to Iowa. Just a hunch.
