Playing Duke would get ugly....no Duke please.
Maybe but unranked Syracuse just beat that Duke of which you speak . . . @ Cameron Indoor Stadium, no less. So there's that.

i am hoping we can get to a 7 (top 28 in NET) or a 6 (top 24 in NET); i like our chances of making the Sweet 16 betterLunardi #68 in the bracket matrix rankings. Still better than Palm who is a lofty 88th place! Just ignore those guys, they are historically inaccurate.
From the top 20 range, from those who have early brackets out Jan 13th - 15th:
Bracketville: 6 seed.
https://bracketville.wordpress.com/bracketology/
syracusefan7: 6 seed.

If Iowa makes the tournament and beats Duke to go to the Sweet 16 the i would never post on Hawkeye Report again...ever.
What's the old saying? "Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it".The next bracketology should be in a day or 2.
I still want Duke!
Hoooooze with me?

I will put you at the end of the bench! What's the old saying? "Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it".
Seriously though, if we can continually improve, especially defensively, I'll allow you to pay my way for the Duke game. Can't beat that deal, eh?
So I have a chance to get in?I will put you at the end of the bench!
Super! As old as I am I'll start lacing 'em up.oh yeah!
nope. you are towel boy!Super! As old as I am I'll start lacing 'em up.
Howie is out so I took the call. The banker has a new offer of a 2 mil buyout right now. My question to you coach is "Deal or No Deal?"Yes!!!! Duke is back in our bracket, @Hawksfor3 !!!

Did you see the post game wrap on BTN? Underwood said something about a 4 hour delay and not getting in the gym, and said all he was able to do was have a "walk through"? What a sour puss."That's "a team I wouldn't want to play in the postseason because of their inside-out mentality and their ability to score in transition," Illinois coach Brad Underwood said.

Auburn as a 5 seed and Iowa as a 6 seed.. Go put those resumes side by side and tell me how good Joe is at this.. There’s a reason he’s ranked towards the middle of the matrix

I guess my question is, will the Committee say that SEVEN Quadrant 4 games were too many? And if so, will that affect Iowa's seeding? Here’s where I think many people on the matrix are missing it and the number one bracketologist out there is nailing it (Iowa as a 4 seed). Iowa’s SOS is tripping people up mostly due to a bad NCONSOS. The committee however will look at that and say yeah that’s bad however they won every single game and most by a convincing amount. I don’t think the actual non con rank there will hurt us the way it is now for people who have Iowa as a 6,7,8. ZERO quad 2,3,4 losses, average NET loss under 15, and 8 quad 1 and 2 wins.. Our company for those three factors? Virginia and Michigan State
Does it matter? You have us playing Duke in FF. Remember?I guess my question is, will the Committee say that SEVEN Quadrant 4 games were too many? And if so, will that affect Iowa's seeding?
US Bank stadium will be half full with IOWA FANS!!!Does it matter? You have us playing Duke in FF. Remember?![]()

i really like the NET rankings and the sorting of results by quadsMaybe. But it should be applied across the board and not just pick and choose certain teams. Virginia has 7, Gonzaga 10, Michigan 7, Houston 7, Virginia Tech 7, Texas Tech 8 etc.

so far, at least.![]()
I do not believe that the Big10 will get 10 teams in , just as I do not believe the Big 12 will get 8 teams in . Those are numbers that would be records probably for both conferences. Heck, 8 of 10 from the Big 12 is 80% and I really doubt that ANY league has had that high a percent get in. I am thinking the Big 10 will be somewhere are around 7-8 and the Big 12 will be 6-7.Feb 1 BRACKETOLOGY

ORIGINAL POST, DEC 12
My team...I mean, 8 Seed Iowa will win their first round game and then beat 1 seed Duke in the East Regional to advance to the Sweet 16. Iowa will then beat Villanova and Michigan State to advance to the Final 4!!!
I always had a fondness for Columbia, SC (first 2 rounds) and Washington D.C (East regional semifinal & final). You heard it from da man first.
Iowa would then likely face Michigan at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in the National Semifinals!!!
Thoughts?
P.S. Will that(!!!) get me...I mean, will that get Fran his extension and $20M buyout???
Note that 10 B1G teams are projected to make the Big Dance in the latest ESPN Bracketology.
The 10 teams:
Midwest
5 Nebraska
6 Purdue
West
3 Wisconsin
4 Ohio St
8 Maryland
East
2 Michigan State
5 Indiana
8 Iowa
South
1 Michigan
11 Minnesota (Last 4 in)

BIG will get 8-9, no way on 7 barring a complete collapse by an Iowa or team that is firmly entrenched now.I do not believe that the Big10 will get 10 teams in , just as I do not believe the Big 12 will get 8 teams in . Those are numbers that would be records probably for both conferences. Heck, 8 of 10 from the Big 12 is 80% and I really doubt that ANY league has had that high a percent get in. They wouldn’t. Lunardi just ranks teams on the S Curve without paying attention to variables like that until right before the final selection. Why would the NCAA "punish" Kansas by sending them to DSM as a 3 seed with Iowa waiting as a home team 6 seed? They couldn't realistically do that.
