4:05 start today? When has that ever happened on a Friday?
First time ever

crapwood sucks! Yep, sure hope AAJ is fine!Chatwood is a lucky SOB. He gave up 7 and he is in line to get a win.
Amazing inning by the Cubs in the 5th. 6 consecutive singles with two outs?
I’m crossing my fingers that Almora is just cramping up.
I'm lazy, but didn't Duensing just come off of the bereavement list? I thought yesterday was one of his first appearances since he came back, and he's fatigued? He was scuffling before the bereavement time off.

Yeah, that looks and sounds more like a long term thing. He certainly could have fatigue or inflammation in the shoulder.I think that’s correct. He clearly hasn’t been right lately.
Cubs about to take control of the NL Central here folks. Was just a matter of time.
God bless the Twins pitching
I just don't understand the insane love for this guy. All this big contract talk for a guy who has had an obp over 350 ONE time in SIX years????Machado is a safer bet
We just gave up 25 runs in 3 games to the twins, not exactly impressive .Cubs about to take control of the NL Central here folks. Was just a matter of time.

Seems insane.
Anyhow, cubs have solid D and many guys who can hit for power but not get on base enough. I'll take harper all day, even with injuries.
And, no need for Machado. It's very clear the Cubs need bullpen help, and maybe a solid innings eater depending on what happens with Darvish. The cubs have the best obp in mlb this year.
Lester has turned himself into a credible batter. I’m not over valuing that homer, just noting how far he’s come since he’s joined the Cubs.
That is a little surprising, but then again we have played a lot of mediocre pitching so far.The cubs have the best obp in mlb this year.
I like our pen....at least when it is healthy and fully available! And, no need for Machado. It's very clear the Cubs need bullpen help, and maybe a solid innings eater depending on what happens with Darvish.
Dumping Giminzez and bringing up Caratini is the #1 regular player move I'd make right now.
You can always get better in the pen. Theo and Jed have done a great job each year of finding useful arms, but you can always have more. Especially for the post season, which I expect the Cubs to make again.I like our pen....at least when it is healthy and fully available!
The "darvish effect" is KILLING us! That little pussy needs to go out and earn his money!
Taking mimo from the pen hurts a lot and puts a lot more pressure on the others. If we can get them healthy come Sept/Oct...pen doesn't really worry me. I just hope we don't see crapwood in the pen come oct!!
Is all this machado talk for this year or next year? If next year, there are some top notch relievers out there and sure hope the cubs add 1 of them. If it is this year, anyone talking about trading addy for machado is nuts imo.
That is a little surprising, but then again we have played a lot of mediocre pitching so far.
That or maybe I'm just a jinx....
They haven't played more mediocre pitching than any other teams, they just have the best offense in the NL.
It's too bad they can't feast on crappy AL pitching all the time like this weekend.
How do you think the Yankees, Red Sox, Astros, … have inflated their numbers? By beating each other? There are too many teams tanking this year for any one fan base to claim their team's wins are more significant than another team's wins.Cub fans should thank their lucky stars they haven't faced good teams like the Yanks/Boston/Seattle/Houston this year. It's pretty easy to inflate the offensive numbers when they've been able to avoid the four best teams in MLB.

Check out the Yankees record against Boston/Houston/Seattle and get back to me.How do you think the Yankees, Red Sox, Astros, … have inflated their numbers? By beating each other?
