Good thing these idiots stuck to tradition and brought a stretcher out on the field and did CPR for 8 minutes when a golf cart to an ambulance to the hospital could’ve happened in half the time

I don't think they were sticking with tradition, I think they were reacting, this doesn't happen often

What a moment of humanity in Copenhagen. Danes and Finns chanting his name together after the match was suspended:

For anyone that doesn’t know, hardcore Danish fans are known as “Roligans”. Pretty much the opposite of English hooligans. Known as a very passionate but a most fun-loving and welcoming fan base...

Yea I don’t necessarily see why they wouldn’t use a cart here, but the immediate response with the professionals administering CPR, the oxygen and immediate attention within seconds is why this is likely to have a happy ending. The ambulance is just the same people on-board an ambulance and those triage specialists on the pitch were no different than what would have been available in the ER.

Can't believe what we all witnessed...but thank God it appears to have a happy ending!

Agreed. Generally you want to stabilize before transporting. There will be gaps in CPR if you take the time to to load on to a stretcher also the quality of CPR won't be as good in transport as it is while he is on the field.

Well, the Dutch are back. 2-0 over Ukraine with 30 minutes left.

Also, maybe we should add Copa America to the thread title, OP? Or start a separate one? Your call. Brazil vs Venezuela up soon to open that tournament on FOX. Of course, Venezuela’s star is Josef Martinez of Atlanta United.

Forget just this tournament, that's on a very short list for top goals of the year right there. I don't think I've heard DR that excited since 2005 Champions League final. I wish he was still paired up with Tommy Smyth.

Derek Rae is a gentleman and a scholar. Himself a Scot, he had earlier in the match talked about how excited his 85-year old father was for the match. Said he had a steak pie in the oven for halftime (apparently a traditional celebratory dish). You know this result had to kill him. But he called it like a champ, which is no surprise.

Literally seconds earlier before this goal he had quipped about how the US had been so distraught over missing a single World Cup given how long the drought has been for tradition-rich Scotland. With his perfect pronunciation of names, regardless of which corner of the world they originate from, hearing him call a match is like poetry.

His use of German pronunciation is incredible.

If 0-0 holds here through the final minutes this could be the most interesting group that has suspense through the final minutes of the last day. Slovakia already has the 3 points, and it's hard to imagine Lewandowski goes through 3 full matches without having some kind of profound impact after being kept quiet today.

Kaku, who just left NY Red Bulls (after 3 seasons), hit this sweet volley as an equalizer for Paraguay. 3-1 Paraguay now...

Group of Death finally playing today in the Euros:
Tuesday, June 15
Group F
: Hungary vs. Portugal (Budapest; noon ET, 6 p.m. CET) - ESPN
Group F:
France vs. Germany (Munich; 3 p.m. ET, 9 p.m. CET) - ESPN

Hoping France/Germany lives up to the hype! Taking off early and heading to the pub to watch w/some buddies.

Also, this is how I feel during every international tournament! These events are so much fun! I'm going to lose my ever-loving mind when we host the WC in 2026!!!!!

If it’s as good as the group of death in Copa America last night, Argentina vs Chile, it will be good. That one was as fun a 1-1 draw as you’ll see.

France and Germany have very little history. It’ll be interesting to see if either team shows up for this.
