Penn St QB Beau Pribula has Committed to Missouri after Visiting IOWA Wed, Dec 18. Will Iowa add a 6th QB to the Roster?

I could easily see this happening. Nice weather to play in. Frost is probably a pretty good salesman and he's a former QB. He conned Adrian Martinez into going to Nebbie over the likes of Bama and Georgia.
Oh I know it can happen, in fact I might be leaning that way at the moment, I meant I can’t imagine losing a recruit to that scumbag again

Pribula is better, if he wants to be here Lester wants him, regardless of brown or sully. Dudes good and I’m sure PSU wishes he would stay
As a Penn State fan, I'm glad Drew Allar is back for one more year with the new OC, but it kind of sucks that Pribula now needs to move on to accomplish his goals so he'll have to finish up elsewhere. The timing was less than ideal, but I don't fault him for that. I thought of Iowa as a possible fit immediately when I heard Beau was transferring so I'm glad he's taking a look. If he stays in the Big Ten I hope it's at Iowa.

You mean the Scott Frost (then the backup QB) who hid inside a closet while the girl he was with was confronted by her former boyfriend, the team's star tailback, who grabbed her by the hair and throw her down the steps? Then later voted to put him back on the team? That Scott Frost?

Yup. That weirdo. Also looks like Beau is going to Ole Miss tomorrow and Indiana over weekend. If Lester pulls this off he is officially a great recruiter. Odds against us

If they do sign another QB, it will undoubtedly be one that figures to start on day one. They're not looking for depth at this point.
You see this the same way I do and I don't think Pribula fits into the picture with our situation. Lester I think wants an open competition in the spring to sort out QB1 and 2 going into the fall. Pribula looks like a guy who fits his scheme so he got him to visit but I would bet he lands elsewhere.

Oh I think he'd fit in great. A better version of Sully. That’s why Lester is pursuing him. I'm not confident in Iowa landing him though.

I didn't mean that he wouldn't fit in here. I meant that we have a full QB room and he wouldn't come in here as the designated starter. Lester told Brown he would be in the mix for the starting spot and the same would apply to Pribula. Sullivan will have to earn the QB1 spot as well come spring.

The QB room is full, but it isn't full of high level talent. Pribula would come in with easily the best credentials and potential to excel in 2025. You have to believe that that is what Lester sees in Pribula, and that's what the NIL offer was likely predicated upon.

Mizzou and now Ole Miss in the conversation makes me believe we're third at best in this 😮‍💨

Every QB has other QBs.

The path to be a starter at Iowa is probably fairly open. We don’t know what he was told by Iowa, or any other school.

Missouri has a good freshman coming in but nothing else, Indiana has some solid competition, UCF has rizk or whatever who did OK, and ole Miss has a stud in Simmons… I think ole Miss would be the obvious highest bidder, but least likely to start.
The kid is gonna pick best fit and chance to start… he’s getting paid no matter what. We’re still in it but I just don’t see it happening

Mizzou is probably high bidder.

I read that somewhere about Brown but not necessarily accurate as you pointed out. Lester serms like a straight up guy and I get the sense that he has communicated that he wants to build a highly competitive QB room and give everyone a shot at the starting spot right now. He has come a long way in rebuilding the QB room already.

I’m confident in our room already with Sullivan followed by Brown/Stratton developing.

Pribula would be a nice surprise/big get, but I won’t lose sleep if he goes elsewhere.
I am not completely confident in the room. If you can get a day 1 starter, they have to do it

Honestly, if we get Pribula, Brendan Sullivan could easily be gone as well (as others have noted.)

We could be looking at the possibility that the top three QBs on next year's depth chart are all guys not on the current roster. (Pribula, Brown, J. Sullivan).
And we need WR's to throw to and OL to block or even Tom Brady in his prime would be wasted.

Added Ole Miss? Must not like his NIL offers so far.
Prolly gonna visit as many places as possible now before the current CFP players enter after their games.
Actually pretty smart. Cuz brown and Noland can’t visit yet, and who knows who else enters.. he’s a hot commodity and has the time to visit. Guessing Indiana will be last stop and makes a decision Sunday. Not liking our chances tho

Sully has not been that impressive. Our baseline has been too low.
Yeah. It's all about expectations. Sully is a capable QB, but the baseline for fan expectations of offense at Iowa is now worst in the country and see anything better than completely broken as a big win. Iowa scores 19 points in a 1 point loss and fans are asking what's wrong with the defense. Fans were raving about how well the offense was performing and how the defense had taken a big step back. With an All American tailback the offense was ranked 119th in total yards and 132nd in passing offense. They fared better on the scoring metric with 62nd but failed to score 21 points in 5 games.

The defense on the other hand was 13th in points allowed and only .5 out of the top 10 and tied with Oregon. Yards per game wasn't as good but still ranked a very respectable 23rd in the nation.

Iowa can still compete with the best teams in the country from a defensive perspective. They still have a mountain to climb offensively and expecting that to happen with just an okay QB and a dearth of receiving talent to go along with an average oline isn't going to get them there.

The improvement in scoring was great! Lester gets big props for that. The downside is without a serviceable passing game there remains a ceiling, especially against quality opposition.

Capable, serviceable Big Ten QB had been a level that Iowa hadn't seen since '19, so B. Sully has looked like Roger Staubach compared to what we've gotten used to....
Agree. I'm looking forward to the Music City Bowl to see if we get the Sullivan from Wisconsin or the UCLA game. I tend to believe we'll see more of a Wisconsin level performance. I'll feel a lot better about next fall if he plays well in the bowl game.
