Everyone knows Iowa can't protect the QB long enough to throw over top. No one respects getting beat over the top so it makes it even harder to make those 5 yard passes. That ball led by maybe 1ft...not off by much, but two guys defending.

Which is why I did not want a backup to play. It’s lose-lose and now Kirk has an excuse to start Petras again next week.

Padilla should have been given the start next week, so he at least had a fighting chance to succeed.

Instead BF runs double five yard outs with no one over the middle with two receivers running into three defenders.

Could be true but on that play it was a tight window and needed some zip. Hit LaPorta right in the hands. A little in front but absolutely catchable
