***2024 Iowa Football Recruiting Thread***

Charlie Becker, WR from Tennessee, will be taking his official visit to Iowa next weekend with the big group coming in. I have a good feeling about gaining his commitment to the Hawkeyes.
Why would a quality WR come to THIS antedeluvian offense?

why don't you ask Brown a top 100 4* WR that transferred from OSU

grade 77 Ath Mota
grade 77 WR Howard out of KC MO
grade 75 WR Buie out of Florida
in the 2023 class. when you find out tell what they said as most of us will be all ears.
Brown was 7th on the depth chart at OSU....He walked into the Iowa lockeroom and was already light years more talented than anyone in the current wr room.....and was paid quite well to leave and join the Iowa program.

Would there be any chance of any more portal guys? Media days are July 26 & 27, so I assume camp starts maybe that Saturday the 29th?

was hoping somebody would committed by now, maybe after this weekend things will change for the good, it is a very slow time with no recruiting news,

Happy for them joining the Hawks, but WHAT exactly did they win? Or are we now acting like N Braska, and measuring our success before the first game is played?
When it comes to the offense, the answer is a qualified yes. With these players, there is at least a measure if hope. There was little of that last year, so a win of sorts

last year could have been worse and maybe should have been worse with how poster have whining. maybe a 5-8 season or worse, if people want a reason to bitch, that would have been the type of season to really get them going,

Blah, blah, blah, posters all bitching, go be a fan of another team, blah, blah,blah.. do you have another narrative, or are you just going to keep repeating this same tired retort over, and over, and over?

From an offensive perspective, was it 130th or 131st out of 131? How much worse could it have been exactly, or had it been better, might they have won those 2 games where they lost 9-6 and 10-7?

I think New Mexico was actually last offensively in 2022. Not that it is much of a comfort.

Karner committed to TAMU.

Another one of our top targets who didn’t make their OV. They need to move up their “big” June visit date. This is either the second or third year in a row where we’ve missed quite a few top targets because they commit elsewhere before they even get here.
I also noticed Jewett Hayes, DE from Cincinna, is no longer on the list of visitors for this weekend. As far as I know, we still are in the lead for him. Not sure what to make of it?

I’ve heard one of the reasons they pick this weekend is because it is same weekend as the IC block party in the ped mall. Which if anyone who has been knows how great of a time it is and the set up blocking streets off. Helps kill the IC is a farm town in the middle of no where stigma.

Elite offensive high school skill position players aren't coming here until BF's offense shows a pulse.

Still waiting.
it has showed a pulse but your outright hatred for Brian makes you refuse the offense as all you can do is cherry pick.

also Brian produced these as AA TE Fant 3rd Team, TE Hockinson 1st Team/Mackey Award winner with both of them 1st RND NFL Picks.
shove your assine remarks up you ass.

the Mackey Award is the top Award for TE's and being names a AA with becoming a 1st RND NFL Draft pick is the ultimate goal. IA just got out NIL'd by TA&M, you know the team that spent over $30,000,000 for a whole recruiting class,

ya gotta go where the most money is.

with the NIL money around a lot of you better get used to seeing players going to the highest bidders and that means team with multi million dollar donor's where IA has the $1000 donor's

The money being paid was always there...Of course, the amounts are higher, and more schools have the ability to pay 10+ kids a year vs 2-5...other than most of it being somewhat above board now, vs being alot shadier then.. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking alot has changed.. Without NIL...The Kaleb Brown's/Nick Jackson's/Erik All's/Case McNamara's/Seth Andersen's/ R. Parker's...etc..wouldn't be at Iowa...Kids like Proctor...were going to get paid alot no matter if the year was 2002 or 2022... Schools like A&M can buy all the players they want...that team is a mess...that money is going to cause/has caused chaos/turmoil amongst the team..

Does it suck when high talent kids go elsewhere? Yes, of course...Iowa will still have to evaluate better and continue to develop kids...
That's the way it has been for decades..

An old saying-Talent sets the floor....Character sets the ceiling....
