We had about 15 mins of truly shocking wind. The hurricane shutters were rocking and me and tbw ( pic included) wondered if we should have left. Then the winds dropped dramatically in about 5 mins.
Beach across road ok - no erosion.

The hurricane made landfall at Siesta Key. This guy filmed his experiences riding out the storm just south of the path. They walked around Siesta Key in knee deep water in the hours immediately after the storm passed. The bearded guy explained how Siesta Key likely received less damage than the areas to the south because the eye passed directly overhead. They got religious at the end.
