Well for as poorly as everything went being down 13 is about as good as you could hope for.

I'm sorry but she has to play Ava more. AOG is too slow when playing against an aggressive defense and a player that is longer than her. I'm fine with hannah but she is a turnover machine (part turnover and part turnover by forcing a bad shot).

And the girl from Ohio State grew in an inch….she was 6’5 early in the game when referenced and 6’6 towards the end of the half.
True. But they're not getting the ball in position. They look desperate on offense. When shots are t falling you should be able to draw up a play or two to get them going. They aren't doing a great job breaking the press again. And to not call a timeout to end the half of on he coach. Every possession counts.

Hannah is a face up player (turnover prone at that). Hannah at the 5 is an acceptable answer against teams with no big that you should beat. Ava has to be utilizes/tried in these games with quicker taller bigs.

Iowa came out timid. They let OSU be the aggressor, just the opposite of what they've been doing lately. Not impressed with OSU. Iowa should come out with their own press to start the second half, Heiden should get a chance, and Iowa just needs to get aggressive and take the game to OSU like they did vs. USC. The offense is sluggish. The calls are ALL going OSU's way, but if Iowa gets aggressive and hits a few more shots the second half, they still have a chance to pull this out.
The looks haven't been that bad for most of it. They have missed 7 layups and all the 3's have been pretty much wide open. Make 2 layups, 2 more FT's, and even 1 of the open 3's and it's a 4 point game. They do need to do a better job against the press for sure but that was only like 2 of the 9 turnovers.

I’ve been through this TO thing with you in particular. She averages the third least turnovers per 40 minutes on the team.
If McCabe can't get 3 open looks a half that's on the coach. They have missed a few open shots, yes. But their missed layups are off-balance out of position shots. I just feel like they look to be scrambling on offense

I guess in my mind they are correlated. We aren’t athletic or big enough to get open which is causing us to take bad low percentage shots. All of the turnovers didn’t help either which I chalked up to the speed and length of OSU

I think it’s OK to disagree with some coaching decisions being made in the moment without thinking somebody is a bad coach.I think Jan is a good coach I just thought with the offense struggling so badly she should’ve put Lucy back in sooner. I’m still hopeful we can claw our way back into this, but we need Lucy to create offense.

Totally agree. We're all just fans enjoying the game and giving our hot takes. Some people really take it personally. Not that Iowa cut it to 8, I take back everything I said in the first half haha!
