*****Iowa (W) vs Indiana Game Thread*****

I get road vs home can be different, but it's amazing to me how much of a swing can happen between two teams. playing a team you beat by almost 30 a few weeks ago and now down double digits at half. How does one team get that much better or the other team get that much worse?

Here’s the thing….

I hate it when fans say this when they are losing/lost, but IU is not as good as tOSU or us. But we are way out of sync…

We’re not soft, we’re not standing around. But we are timid pulling the trigger by everyone not named CC.

And she was fired up, needs to calm down.

We’ve missed some good shots and been careless. Our Defense was good late however.

Some super questionable calls that stole momentum.

Two of the Indiana ladies have 27 points. A 4 year player and a 5 year player. They came to play, along with CC. Everyone else is pretty intimidated by the moment.

The first game these teams played, Clark wasn't anything special, got 30 points on so-so shooting. Iowa whooped them because Davis, Marshall, and Martin were 8-16 from three and combined for 40 points. Tonight, they've combined for 6 points.

We’ll be better in the 2nd, CC will shoot better & I hope we take it to the rack & get them in foul trouble.

I'd like to see Clark handle the ball at the arc, pass and cut to get it back to get a 3 up.

She's doing too much 1 on 1 to get her 3s off and against good teams it's just not a consistent winning formula.

The other thing is when they stop looking to attack off the drive, they are as easy to guard as any other scrub team in the Big Ten.

Keep feeding Stuelke, let her kick and clear and then attack off the dribble. If Holmes or another of their forwards stays home, stop and kick and look to re-attack or make the extra pass for a 3.

They are waaaay too reliant on one-and-done type looks at the basket (either long 3s or one person drives or feed to Stuelke and if that one shot doesn't go in, it's back to the other end to not play defense.........)

Hannah's acting like she took an elephant sized edible out there. Slow feet and not matching rebounding intensity.

I agree not true but cc complains all the time to refs not a good look
Every team leader does that because they are far less likely to get T'd up, especially as upper classmen. Indiana was doing it as well. Tom Izzo made a career out of it. Yet Clark is the one that everyone focuses on. And Fran too. Except he'll get T'd up real quick.

I’ve told this story before, but back when Golden St & Cleveland were battling.

GS beat them out there by about 30 in the championships, 2 days and a venue change later, Cleveland wins by 30 plus…🤷‍♂️

It happens, quite a bit actually!

That's the difference between this team making it to the final four again or losing on the first weekend of the tournament.

Clark simply can't do it all and when she attempts to do, so you you get a half like this.
