Fran's boys are a direct reflection of how limited of a coach he is. Amazing they are coaches kids, can't believe they were ever considered 4* talent. Is eastern IA HS bball really that bad these days?

Both teams have 1 special player and 4 others. The difference is 1 team is coached how to defend/rebound and the other looks like a pickup game defense.

As another poster just mentioned, having a Reggie or Doug Thomas, or even Erek Hansen down low would make a big difference for this team. The lack of D, rebounding, and toughness especially down low is a killer. The other team fears nothing Iowa has.

They win just enough games to make you think there's a chance.... but never win anything of note... ever, but so much apathy has set in.... there's never a hot seat. It's infuriating as a fan.

Fran values loyalty...plays his seniors and his kids and his favorites. Not interested in defense. He's got a system that gets Iowa to 0.500 in B1G and that is his ceiling. Coaching 36 years and zero sweet16's---that is a telling stat.......even Alford got a sweet16 early in his career..

Because Iowa is so poorly coached by a classless POS I find myself pulling for Wisconsin. I remember Ralph Miller, Lute, Tom Davis even George Raveling and I know that most Hawk fans are happy that he is not Alfraud, or Lick. But we can do a lot better.
