*****Oklahoma vs Iowa Game Thread*****

Not a good game for payton statistically, but 4 for 9 vs 1 for 7 is a lot better than Pmac and
Payton has 2X the rebounds.

PMAC at 6'9 should be a PF, but he plays SF because he is too soft to rebound and defend his natural postion. Payton is better, so Fran moves Payton to PF to insure his boy starts at small forward. Then Fran tells the public he gives no prefernce to his kids. That is B.S.

Amazing

This is what happens when Patrick McCaffery is the so called leader of the team.
Yet he came off the bench over Keegan and started over Kris. Yes, I’ve heard the mantra of Kris wasn’t ready to start but that’s when you tell the kid you are good enough to play and start so get in there and play.

It’s time for Fran to be done with his shoot the three no matter if they can’t make one and no defense. Leave with Patrick after the season and let new leadership come in and take over. Time for new blood.

Freshman are the most talented players.

pMac is doing what????

Ugly year. I assume this is it for Fran with P Mac done.

Yeah, it’s always been so confusing as to how he gets the minutes he does. Just doesn’t do anything well on the court - he’s just….there….
I totally agree. However, I will say about every 5th game he puts up good numbers. But, that does not overrule the other 4.
I should also say, this loss was a team effort. PM didn't lose this game by himself.

Too many Caucasians. Too little team speed.
I know that’s not politically correct, but that is kinda my thought as well. Maybe Fran is trying too hard to recruit the state of Iowa and should be hitting the bigger cities harder. It seems to me whenever Iowa plays more athletic teams in the nonconference or during the NCAA tournament they get blown out because they are so outmatched athletically.

I hate to say this too, but both of Fran’s kids who were supposed to be such stars haven’t really ever panned out.

Of course not.

He’s just not a threat of any kind on the basketball court when playing against others of similar height.

I dunno…just such a stark difference in athleticism between us and our opponents.
