Geez, I hate to b the voice of reason, but since Tarp and Spooner are two of my fav posters can I ask u guys to let it go?

Tarp is one of my faves. Still is. This is a spat between broskis.

I bet Lee goes against Isu. Big home meet, probably won’t see him again until Big Ten after that.

No. And no.

No, They start meaning something vs ISU.

And no again. A year of Ayala over a dual? Let alone a noncon dual?

Just to be clear, think he goes at Isu, then will go during Big Ten dual season.

Yeah. Blast away at a kid who shows up every day, puts the time in, and gives it all he’s got. Like it’s his fault he’s the best option in the room. But I’m the dick.
Usually you are the dick, but I agree here. We saw Harris wasn't very good at the first meet. How in the hell are people still complaining about the kid. He's our backups backup. Who gives a f*** how good he is? He put the time in and is trying his best. He's also possibly the luckiest kid in the world to be at the talent level he's at and be able to start for the Hawkeyes.

If he was our top guy I'd get the frustration, but cannot fathom complaining about a 3rd stringer's performance every single meet.

First of all he why is in the room in the first place? Who wants to own that?

Wouldn’t that be him? I mean, he’s a JC wrestler of note and you can really never have enough 125s. I doubt there’s a room in the country that would have turned him away.

There have been countless threads over here complaining about teams forfeiting 125 “man don’t they have ANYONE to put out there?????”

The funny part is you guys are here blasting him when he isn’t even at the bottom of the depth chart.

First of all, no you guys, just me to blame. I believe someone said he didn't qualify for a Juco Tourney, so why is he here? NO one in the country would turn him away, really. Look good on the kid for getting here, had to be a dream, wish him all the best. But this has to be on the coaching staff i think

Don’t be so quick to rule anyone out of the lineup for next Sunday. We’re close, close to having to find something else to complain about other than our “weak” lineup. Each day we get closer.

i don’t understand the focus on harris. kid grinds in the room everyday. it’s not his fault he’s out there when he shouldn’t be. every great team needs great training partners. he goes out there and fights.

obviously spencer is the guy. ayala is both not healthy and redshirting. ybarra also has a redshirt he might want to keep. this is what a 4th string 125-already a weight that most teams struggle to maintain depth at- looks like. no need to shit on the kid.

Yes, really. 125s are at a premium. College coaches will generally take any 125 who’s willing to put the time in. Keep in mind he’s taken on some fairly good 125s. The Sacred Heart guy was more his speed.

Also, the comments on here hardly feel like “good on the kid…living the dream…wish him the best…”

I’m sure the coaches have zero issue taking the blame for having to put a kid down on the depth chat out there to save a few points prior to Spencer’s return. It hasn’t cost us a thing. It doesn’t exactly take broad shoulders to bare that burden.

The baffling part to me is that the Hawks continue to roll out someone this bad. I can’t think of another Hawk that’s been this bad in recent memory. (or perhaps ever). Perhaps you knew that Iowa would start someone this bad, and it hasn’t surprised you in the least, but every time I watch him wrestle, I’m dumbfounded and can’t wait till it’s over.
I think Ybarra is who we can blame. He knew Lee was out for a while. I really am surprised he is still in the room. Unselfish wrestlers work to be at a weight where the team needs them.

From the outside looking in, I think JY let the team down.

Once Jesuroga and Ayala tee it up, Ybarra ain't sniffing the lineup, anyway.

Bullshit. He has dreams too. Can’t beat lee or Ayala. His best chance was at 133. Stop your shit!! Atleast he is still with the program!! He could go d2 or d3 and place. He is staying for now!!

You can realize your dreams and still help the team.

Be real, this guy isn't ever going to be a starter on this team.

My opinion, but he got horsed last year at 125, he's going to do better at 133? LOL

Iowa has been the program they are with kids being unselfish. Lee Weber ring a bell?

Not about you. It’s about him and his dream. His in the program. Your not.

Grades:
125: D- feel bad for the kid working hard everyday and punishing himself on a daily basis to get ridiculed like he does.
133: D please let me see what Teske can do against isu as I feel he is the better option for us.
141:C kid is a fighter but just not quite there Need Woods to go vs isu!
149: A- great gutsy win I get the challenge but you had to know it was two.
157:A++++ Kid is so dangerous! Love how he did not panic!
165: B+ nice methodical major on a rd of 12 or 16 type guy.
174: C first match back in a long time! Thought it was risky to put him out there but good idea before isu
184: B nice win over another rd of 12 or 16 type guy
197: C started out on looking like an A but to get turned over like he did on such a mediocre wrist tilt was not good. But gutsy way to win
Hwt: B+ Another nice bonus point win over a rd of 12 type guy.

Agree for all except a little too generous to Warner. He was lucky to win against an unranked guy he should major. I'd say a D.
