Franek looks small compared to Haines too.
Murin recently comes to mind as a Hawk who had their best season as a senior. Although I agree there's many that haven't.

His feet were 10x's faster than Woods. Real didn't even come remotely close to getting to a leg. He's going to have to score on counterattacks or possibly catch him in a tilt to beat him. One of those dudes looks to have progressed since last year and it isn't our guy. Hope Real can find his groove come NCAA's.

Problem is PSU has backups that are better than some of iowa's starters.

No just no, we have blinders on but there are several states that are better.

Franek was in deep twice on a single leg (which is more shots than he usually has after 3 matches), and those turned into one takedown for Haines and a near cradle (good call on the PD)

yeah i’m mostly talking about title contending type guys, but they still get credit for guys like murin and desanto too. i don’t know if murin was better his senior year, but he wasnt worse.
and im not specifically talking about final placement either. ramos was worse his senior year, but got it done in march. gilman finished worse, but was better his senior year.
Somethings gotta change. Feels like we just bang our head against the wall... Hoping to break through.
Looking at the lats, cut, and energy of the PSU guys, you can’t tell me that their conditioning for wrestling isn’t better than ours. Also, when is the last Iowa wrestler to give up the first TD to PSU and win a match? Kill, or be killed should be our mentality out of the gates.
