Flip over and watch UConn and UNC. They both just seem to have more athleticism by a wide margin. Yes we have CC, and we’ve played and beaten teams with more athleticism before but just seems to highlight our deficiencies

They were best buds. It's obvious Clark rubs teammates the wrong way. Caitlin while being the best player in the country has a personality issue. Without her though this team would be lucky to be a .500 team

Feuerbach & McCabe should be getting some of Marshall's minutes. Gabbie may be a better defender but is in a shooters slump.
Extremely successful people can be like this. They are super focussed on the goal in front of them. No one is harder on Caitlin than she is. She is entitled to try to get her teammates to try harder and have the same goals to win the Big10 and National Championship. She is the coach on the floor. Some of you snowflakes may not like her style but I am sure her teammates like where Caitlin has and will take them. They all are more than happy to play regularly on national tv and in front of full arenas. Without Caitlin they wouldn't experience any of that.
We all need to understand how driven extremely successful people are versus everyone else.

I never said I didn't like her style and I'm far from a snowflake. I'm just calling like I see it. You're right no one would be talking about Iowa if not for her. Enjoy her while we can. Maybe Maddy Greenway is going to be the next in line

Agree this is the best 5, but I like to have at least one solid offensive threat coming off the bench. Not sure McCabe can consistently fill that role yet. Keep Marshall in as a starter and bring Feuerbach off the bench. But definitely increase Feuerbach's minutes.

They seriously otherwise just gush over each other all the time. Martin credits Clerk for convincing her to come back.
Amazing that marginal Hawk women basketball fans look at anything to nitpick Clark. Watch her reaction on the bench when her teammates make a bucket or good play. She goes crazy with excitement. Enjoy the ride folks, highly doubtful we see another like her in an Iowa uniform, men or women.
pretty sure Kylie is Clarks roommate. Caitlin was a one of Martins biggest fans at the start of the year. She mentioed in interviews that she relies on Martin to help regulate her emotions in game. That doesnt mean that something hasnt changed?
Its possible the whole "when the light shines on Caitlin" frame is wearing thin? The media hype this year is insane. During the Iowa state game I almost had to mute the game because all they could talk about was Caitlin and her points neede for 3k. Bluder also said something about wanting to "feature" Clark during the post game. I think the two greatest risk to this teams long term goals will be the lack of development of a true center and the extreme difficulty of managing the scring record. Kelsey Plum commented on how much of a distraction it is. I saw some pretty rude replies to the articles, but I think if you go back and look at how disruptive setting an all time record uis during the year, there are pleny of examples of it being disruptive to a teams goals. Its also very common for people to struggle in the games where the records might be set, both because of the pressure and because every team is focused on not letting someone set the record against them. This team is still finding thier way, and I would expect that when they are not playing well frustration between players will emerge.
Don’t know their current status but at one time Kate and Patrick were an item.
I agree it can be a distraction however it's not all on Caitlin. The team needs to step up and look for their shots. Bluder needs to quit being so nice sometimes and rip some of the behinds. I know that her system encourages finding the better shot and making passes but I see players pass up wide open looks. I also think Caitlin needs to stop jacking threes so quickly and wait til later in the shot clock. We need to feed the post and the bigs needs to make the bunnies. We need more driving and kicking from the other guards. Kate is a capable scorer and we know Molly can drive. Gabbie gets demolished on the board everytime she misses a shot but at least she is looking to score instead of being so hesitant. Most of her 3s are strong which tells me she's forcing it instead of letting it come to her. Syd needs to start at the 3 with Martin at the 4 with Molly coming off the bench. Molly gives great minutes but we need Syd on the floor because she does so many things and hustles like no other player.
Someone needs to really chew the asses of BIG refs so that officiating is consistent. Despite the fact that Wisconsin was called for a high volume of fouls, they probably should have been called for twice as many. There is WAY too much pushing and holding that is allowed to go on.
When Molly is in the game, she should be the primary ball handler so Caitlin can move without the ball and alleviate a lot of the holding and pushing and open up the offense. I know Caitlin is the best ballhandler but as long as teams are going to practically assault her on her every possession we need other players to be more involved and we need better screening and other guards to drive and kick whenever possible to keep the defense from collapsing the paint or just completely suffocating Clark.
Kate is just intense. She always looks pissed at times in the game. Kate is also considered the leader of the team is usually the one to put Caitlin in check. The whole team lives together in the same apartment complex and everyone gets along. Never heard otherwise.
Guess I missed that one. But are you thinking about Connor and PMac's last podcast 6 months ago. It was mentioned because someone said something on twitter but it was just a rumor and they confirmed it was not true.

Kate is into women, I literally just saw a TikTok video of hers where she is pretty open about it. Guess she could be into dudes too but her attire / aesthetic is a lot of Birkenstocks and baggy khakis lmao.

She has been open for a while. Which is why the Patrick rumor threw me. I don't really care. Sucks for us guys because Kate is a lovely, amazing woman with a great personality. But other than that it's her love life and it's irrelevant. The girl can ball and that's all I care about. She's a great player and a great person and she's likely going to be a great coach when her playing days are over if she wants that. She has all the tools to lead and inspire.
My apologies. They absolutely do not have issues with one another.
