Losing to them is not surprising...getting blown out in 1st half not good.
Purdue has 3 losses in conference...they might make final 4, but they have been beatable.. \
I am fine with Keegan sitting. I'd be ok if he came back final few minutes but he was destined for 3 the way it was going. He should be on floor entire 2nd half barring a quick 3.
regardless of who was or wasn't in there, at least throw it to a guy in the front court. Make it look like you're at least trying to score

To sit Keegan for the last 11 minutes or whatever is insanely idiotic - Fran just went ahead and sacrificed any chance Iowa had simply because #15 got a second foul??

Perhaps. But how do you explain Joe T sitting for so long, Kris not logging more minutes, and Sandfort not playing more. The CMac and JBo minutes killed us.
Yes. If Purdue plays its best, Iowa isn't winning. Period. But just voluntarily sitting your best players with 2 fouls doesn't make sense. So what if they can go in the second half. Purdue's chances of winning now stand at 93.5% according to ESPN down 15 at half. you are the underdog, you just have to put your chips on the table and hope that your 2 best players can play without fouling.

Our guards are not good outside shooters or haven't shown that they can be. They can drive to the basket but they have to kick it back out or have the ball blocked.

I am not sure Fran could recruit a worse shooting team if he tried. These are guys that are supposed to be multi-position versatile scorers? Need Keegan and Kris to combine for 50 in the second half.

Frans ‘eye for talent’ is overblown. For every White, Garza, Murrays, there’s Fleming, Hutton, Williams, Ellingson, Josh O, etc.
He has to develop players because he can’t close the deal on any dynamic recruits.

they are locked in because Fran had Rebracca on Eddey and no one fronting...so that was 3 or 4 quick baskets. PMAC lost Sasha and Sasha had 3 early 3pt shots. Teams that have a true post defender and better defense like Rutgers didn't let Purdue have easy looks.
While Mulvey and Josh are not great post defenders, they do have enough size to play behind Eddey and Willams...
This was an uphiill game, but Fran is getting less out of this squad than other better coaches would get. Starting with Kris sitting on bench last two years behind PMAC. CMAC is not a schlolarship player on any other team because you can find walkons that do what he does.
I literally just watched the last 5 minutes of the half. Just got home from officiating a girls varsity only conference tournament game. I thought that was mind spazzing until I watched this. I remember the random times I would have a case of the shanks when golfing. The most recent time I had a kid help me and he was a D1 golfer. He finally looked at me and told me to take 2 weeks off and quit!! I think I’m about there with basketball.
Ulis is a liability. He's a turnover waiting to happen. And like everyone else on the team, he dribbles endlessly with no purpose.
Fran was on Miller and Condon today and talked about this very topic. Check it out I posted the interview. He was destined for 3. I think possibly bring him in final few minutes but overall I agree with why he sat.
