*****Iowa vs Iowa St Game Thread*****

He’s leaving.

I doubt Fran leaves on his own accord with guaranteed money to coach Iowa...but he does probably does have 10+ million in the bank given he's pulled in probalby $30 million at Iowa.... so he doesn't have to coach.

Will be interesting to see where Jack ends up and how much he plays...he won't have his father to make sure he plays big minutes and other coach's require defense. If Jack is mix between CMAC's competitiveness and PMAC's length, then he's best of the bunch.

That's just not true. He's on draft boards for a reason. His shooting.
I just looked at 4 mock drafts. He’s not on anybody’s draft board I promise you.

Edit: he’s a career 35% three-point shooter, which is just about average. Your best attribute can’t be average and pretend like you’ve got a chance in the NBA.

Our luck he will be the best going away

Ok enough of negative talk they have our number tonight let's get ready for Michigan and half a good rest of 2nd half

I'm not gonna hate on PMAC. He isn't good and hasn't improved since high school. I don't think his heart is in it and wouldn't be surprised if he leaves the team before the season is over. He shouldn't have to play basketball just because his dad is the coach. It's odd, him and Connor seem to have 2 completely different personalities. I also blame Fran for playing him way more than he should have. He has not coached partially since his kids have joined the program.

PMAC issues with not playing defense/rebounding are his Dad's fault. PMAC obviously tries hard/wants to win...he just has never been told he's 6'9 and he's got to be able to play in the paint and defend. It's like he's afraid that he'll take an elbow and wants no part of any scrum.

That's just his personality. Very passive. With his size and athleticism he could be so good if he had Connors mentality.

Easy to look good against a bad high school team defense. If Iowa State can hit outside shots they have a chance to be good. Not convinced.
Iowa St is not a good team. Every team looks good when almost half of your points are inside of 5 feet. If Iowa could keep people in front of them and make them take tough 2's or 3's, it would look totally different. Surprised Fran didn't play zone earlier and make Iowa St prove they could make jump shots.

Yes, I agree. CMAC wanted to compete, but didn't have much offensive talent. PMAC only wants to shoot open 3's and drive to basket and leak out early for open dunks...no interest in the physical part of the game due to his personality and obviously his Dad enabled it.

I love the ISU player in the lane then at the free throw line spinning around moving both feet and no travel call. I moved two feet. LoL.
If you really watch, there are at least 3-4 traveling calls missed almost every possession of any game in the country.
