Kueter isn’t even close.

Expected more from Kueter
Very rare for a guy who was 225 just 8 or 9 months ago to go with much bigger HWTs. As mentioned earlier, Bastida seemed to be able to put in good weight, so maybe BK can get to 250+ by next season. BK looked like he skips leg day compared to YB.

I thought he'd lose by more than this so I'm not too disappointed with the match. BK ceiling this year is 7/8 IMO. He did nothing to change my thoughts there.

Interesting night, but we had some guys really answer the bell tonight...33, 74, 84, 97 and some real head scratchers. It's not even turkey day, long time until March!

Some Iowa fans and some of the Iowa State bench were going back and forth and Robin Wilson, Director of Operations for Iowa State, called security on them lol.
Was very close to our seats. I've never seen a more Karen display than that.

She's definitely asked to speak to the manager before...

Ben getting $500K this year to wrestle, which he is, should've came with a clause that he should weigh 245 or up. He's great at a catch weight but not at 285.

All in all...the dual was about what I expected. Not counting the 6, I think the Clones maxed out there expectation; they came to wrestle. I'd like to see where 125 and 141 are at by the end of year. Drake wrestled well. Parco beat a tough guy and did what he had to do to keep the lead. If you look at his history, he has wrestled and won a ton of close matches. Really wish he had got a TD to see how he rode the Cuban.

Thought Caliendo got caught up in getting a big early lead and gassed himself in the first a bit. Hat's off to Euton...very tough kid to takedown head on..solid hips. I think ISU found their guy at 165. I really like that Caliendo is a goer but I think in some situations, it's ok to pick your spots. Brandon Sorensen had a pattern to bonus points that he would nearly always finish in the third period with a full tank. Wasn't sexy but got the job done...and that was with a 2pt TD. (Also see Buchanan)

Besides Nelson, Kennedy is a guy who also has been dealt a lot of crap in here. Thought Tom was on it here because this matchup was probably decided in the room...who was the bigger "big brother" to Riggins. Loved the effort that Kennedy put in to getting this tech because its not like Riggins was fully broke. Both Kennedy and Tom understood the assignment.

I've seen a lot of guys who would become All Americans and champs wilt in their first Carver dual. Get out there and gas because they were so keyed up. Heard about Lincoln plus Sorensen and Kemerer come to mind. Ferrari is just one cool dude, great technically, tough to score on and has a good tank. Looked like he could go another 7 mins. ISU guy looked a lot bigger but you wouldn't know it.

They didn't do much in the first period but that TD at the end of the first just must have been a morale killer for ISU. Buchanan slapped on a tough ride and Carrol had no answer Buchanan was methodical in his approach and finished off the maj in the 3rd.

I thought Kueter wrestled alright. He needs to trust in his stuff and take more shots. He was getting to his snaps but wasn't ready to finish or pounce when the Cuban was snapped down. I'd like to see him go hi low on him. If he beats the Cuban, it's going to be done on the mat.

That lift by Ferrari was awesome.

Interesting as Yonger looked much thicker, especially in the lower body (that's what she said)
Yeah I’m shocked if this is true. He looked smaller for sure.

Either way BK being a redshirt freshman and just placing at this years HWT class will be something. Deepest weight in all of college if you ask me. So if he continues to wrestle 24/7 for the next three years I’m pumped. He will grow into HWT more and more and will dominate soon enough. He’s just not there yet

Agree with all but will add that Kueter's best chance tonight was to win on conditioning. Would like to have seen him press that advantage in an Ironside-Kolat way.

Dresser's press conference, he starts out passive aggressively crying about transfers.

Big+ is awful. I'm assuming the cameraman is watching outside of the eyepiece. Riding time but no actual value. At least jess settles isn't on the call waxing poetic about production crew meals and people who have played 4 games already being among the top dunkers of all time.

Its true I don't post BS. Yonger was 237 and Ben almost 233. They were just over 4lbs apart. Ben needs some more experience that's all it's not a size issue. Yonger was undefeated last year going into NCAA. Prior to Iowa st he beat Gadson in freestyle. Yonger is a very high level wrestler and so is Ben. Not worried about Ben at all he will be just fine

I know he is playing LB but guys like him have the frame to get up to DE. Seems like a reasonable compromise but I honestly think he should stick to wrestling

Iowa’s LBs are between 230-240. At his height, even at LB Iowa will want him around 240+, and probably 260 if he ended up at DE, if he even goes back to football.

Iowa State kid is a contender; wouldn’t write bk off just yet.
I don’t think people are writing him off, just surprised the gap is so wide, being a world champion and top 5 (3?) P4P recruit. People might counter with “Christian Carroll got majored” but I guess I expect more from our staff than I do Dresser. The loss isn’t surprising, not even being in the same area code, was.

Ben is like 5 inches taller — and Yonger holds all his weight in his hips and legs. Yonger has much better wrestling weight and is strong in areas more beneficial to wrestling. Not to mention his experience and maturity. Ben will be just fine and will be dominating people in short time.

I get it. I think he will turn the corner and AA this year, perhaps top 5 even in a loaded weight class.

I must’ve been sitting near Enchemendia’s girlfriend or something, she was screaming his name during the whole match and then broke down sobbing when he lost. Part of me felt bad for her, partly it made the W that much sweeter
Notice any marks on her neck?
