I actually loved Cenzo, and don't know many people that didn't. Most respected his let it fly style. Absolutely despised Nickal though.

Also 3 out of 4 of the people I named weren't penn state guys, but as per usual you have to make everything about yourselves.

Exactly. Most Hawk fans liked Cenzo. His matches with Marinelli were awesome. Nickal was a douchbag. Nolf seemed like a likable guy as well. Lee and Brooks seem like good guys too

Well, one should never give coaches a free pass, and I'm sure they agree that some changes are needed. I agree as well. But I still contend it is 83% recruiting (which admittedly is still on the coaches), and only 17% actual coaching. If not, Kale should have 10 champs, and Spencer Lee should have 0 titles. So what is the end game for you coach bashers? Should every wrestling coach not named Carl be fired because they didn't win a title this year? Should all Iowa sports coaches be fired....pretty much every year? We need to recruit better (easier said than done), try some new approaches, consider different training or add a 'funky' coach, and so on. But for fu$$s sake, we finished 3rd in the nation with banged up wrestlers. PSU deserves credit where credit is due, but to simply think a coaching change is all that's needed to be #1 consistently ignores a shitload of reality. How many programs in ANY sport have had the runs like Gable had, and now Karl is doing. So I guess every other coach in history sucks?? Get a little objectvity, balance, and realism in your thought process.

We could start by not handing out contract extensions like candy. Your comments quickly glaze over the very basis that other coaches are in fact sustaining success and we are not, so why shouldn't we want/expect that same thing? Nothing bizarre about wanting a title more than once every ten years, especially in sport with very little parity.

I will never understand the carl fael bael thing. The guy is great at what he does and no Iowa wrestler ever has equaled what he has done as a wrestler. When it comes to coaching, as of now I would give the nod to Gable but TnT are not even in the conversation. Why the need? so childish. Not call him by his name is clear jealousy. I guess I just want to think it's the un/under educated in Iowa that do this. It's really dumb! Right now PSU is better and probably will be next year too. Hawks need to get better and the fans need to stop with the so so silly comments.

So complain to the U about contract extensions. And right now, there is only 1, I repeat 1, coach in the past decade sustaining success better than our coaches, and at least some of those reasons are out of the control of our coaches. Do I expect them to adapt and improve, yup. Do I want a title every year, yup. But I can also stay grounded in reality and be proud as hell of what our coaches and warriors have done the last 4 years. Time to reload and try to improve in the arms race.

Oh come on, Uncle Jim. Lighten up and have a sense of humor. I respect Karl and I have a Ph.D. Was even a spelling bee stud back in the day. Plus, no matter how we spell it, the Cesspool spell checker automatically changes it to Karl or Kale. Not our fault.

I have criticisms of our coaches but I just think the biggest difference is their talent accumulation. Iowa's not really that close from a recruiting standpoint.

Then force those top kids to go to Iowa instead of Penn State like we did a few years ago to build our recent national title teams.........
