The Hawkeyes (14-10, 6-7) head east for a rematch with Maryland (13-11, 5-8). The Terps beat the hawks 69-67 just 3 weeks ago in Iowa city. Since then Maryland has gone 1-3 and is struggling to score.

The Terps are much better at home (10-3) and the Hawkeyes struggle away from Carver (2-6). Smells like a 75-68 title Turtle victory.

That is a good call to keep focus on Jahmir. I think he started his 3pt run when PMAC was playing the 3 and completely lost him on an inbound play. Jahmir had the game winner when Sandfort switched on him. Our problems are with PMAC and Sandfort at the 3 on switches

The last game Krikke went 3-11 with 4 rebounds.....if he's going to play like that he shouldn't lead the team in minutes at 34 min.

Freeman got a bad whistle last game vs Maryland and played 28 min and fouled out. I wouldn't expect a good whistle on the road, but Fran has to protect Freeman by not making him the only guy guarding Reese. I still think more minutes to tradeoff for Dimbele for post defense/rebounding over Krikke makes some sense and let Dimbele guard Reese part of the time. When you pair Dimbele and Freeman, you can put Dimbele on Reese and actually get some defense. If you put Krikke on Reese, you get a matador defense.


Fran's rule about sitting Freeman after 2 fouls in 1st half means a lot of games Freeman will loose 10 min of PT in 1st half. Freeman is MVP to the team given the team's biggest weakness is post defense/post rebounding---ideally you want him playing more like 35 min/game.

I'll predict a win. Need Sandfort to have a good shooting game or PMAC to go off. Maybe well see less Krikee and see if that works...or maybe he has a decent shooting game and not such a liability.
