It's funny, in situations like this years ago, I'd think 'ok, we got the ball, up 3-0, put a nice drive together, go up 10-0, and let the D do their thing.'
But I suddenly realize how ridiculous it is to think this offense can put together a nice drive and get a TD and how it simply ain't going to happen. Sad, but true.

SIAP not keeping up with the thread, but deacon has the ability of a 5th grader to look off DBs. He just stares down whatever receiver he is going to.
On a positive, his deep balls look like Nate Stanleys.

they usually look pretty good the first 2-3 seconds of each play, and then the last 3-4 seconds are pretty bad.

Why do we not just let Deacon throw it deep on third down, just like we tried on first down??? 3rd and 9 for iowa is like 3rd and 25 for everyone else. The absolute worst thing that could happen if you get the pass off, is your throw an interception 50 yards down the field. It’s literally a punt.
